    Morning all...

having just spent a small fortune in the AP sale, one of the packs I've bought is the DBSO pack... I don't want to mess everything up but can anyone please confirm if I install / extract the .exe file into the Railworks Assets folder???

If I let the .exe file do its own thing then it tries to install into my "C" drive rather the "D" drive where all my Railworks stuff is stored...

    Thanks in advance

    Eric

Change directory here, during the install process.. just change it to wherever your Railworks folder is located.

That's not necessary.. just click the "change" button during the install process (as shown above) and navigate to your railworks folder.

Thanks guys... all sorted & good now, HOWEVER... I'm now trying to install RW Enhancer PRO... I've extracted it but it's trying to install it to

    C:\Program Files (x86)\RW Enhancer PRO

    Is this correct???

    Thanks again...

    Thanks Pookyhead...

Unfortunately McAfee on my computer is causing me grief... it's saying RW Enhancer PRO is a virus (which I don't believe for one minute)... Has anyone had any similar problems when installing this???

Loads of third party software is flagged because they're not correctly "signed" which is what malware hunters look for to legitimise the install. So long as you downloaded it direct from the RWtools website it's pretty safe to turn off your AV whilst installing

Can you not just tell it is a false positive, or disable it? It's a false positive.

Now you have the AP DBSO, you can get the DRS reskin for it from BH reskins, and run the famous DRS class 37 trains from Preston to Barrow. I did a scenario for that ages ago. I'll attach it to this post. Full requirements are in the readme. I think I uploaded this to ATS too if I recall. This is the old version with minimal AP stuff required. I've since redone it with all AP stock.

Link to the DRS reskin.... Click Here.

If it’s a single item you’re installing then yes but trust me, if you’re installing a lot of AP stuff in one go you really don’t want to have to manually select the installation path every time. It will double, maybe triple the time it takes to do it.

If your Railworks Registry entry has got corrupted (which is the likely cause of the problem) then using that JT tool will fix this issue in no time.

You can get a Preston to Barrow route??? Barrow has fond memories for me as my dad used to work on ships going in & out of Ramsden Dock to Japan... As a young learner car driver my mum would let me drive from the Wirral to Barrow using the "A" roads (she detested driving on the motorways anyway!!!) to go & visit Dad whist he was on stand-by... We'd stay on board the ship he was on, it was great... I remember vividly a Trainload Coal 31 being on the dock one morning alongside the ship with a barrier wagon, 2 flask wagons, another barrier wagon & a brake van...

As I was watching the flasks being transferred from the ship to shore, one of the supervisors shouted me over & invited me up the flask & began explaining about the flasks that were being used... It was rather warm on that cold morning...!!!

Once everything was loaded the 31 struggled to set off on the relatively short run from Barrow to Sellafield, it's wheels spinning & sparking trying to get some adhesion on those damp rails...!!!

    Happy days...

It's not complete, and has scenery missing after Grange Over Sands, but yes... it's on the Workshop. If you download my scenario and read the readme file, it's all in there. Also, On Track Simulations have been developing a Cumbrian Coast route for some time now.. it's looking good so far.

    '68.

My earliest train memory is the old Blackpool North (demolished in 1974) and seeing a DMU still in green with its "whiskers" in what must have been around 1972 as the trip in question was in that year according to my Mum, so I can remember everything: BR green, BR blue, Sectorisation, and now the resultant mess of Privatisation.

    I feel old.

My cut off point is Sectorisation... I used to despise the RES livery but now accept it over the current mis mash of liveries...

    Pookyhead...

I've FINALLY installed RW Pro after lots of faffing about with McAfee... I've had to turn it off temporarily whilst i installed RWP, what I'd like to know is once McAfee turns back on is it likely to affect RWP???

The other question is do I need to alter the RWP settings or does RWP automatically set the settings for my machine???

    Thanks in advance

I'm sure it will notify you if it is taking any action against it running. I can't see it being a problem now it's installed.

Once set up, adjustments made, and changes written to your TS files, you do not have to run Enhancer every time, no.
