Door control on both is handled by a person on the train, the TOp on the Victoria and the Train Attendant on the DLR.

Yeah - I did say it was only a possibility - certainly a lot of GTO stock elsewhere is gaining new IGBT/SiCa inverters when undergoing refurbishment. In theory it should be easier than the 1992 stock as the existing 1996 motors can be retained*, it's just the inverter/control gubbins that are changed. 1992 stock has a lot of DC motors (one on every axle) to be replaced so would be a much much bigger project.

As a side note - in the next couple of years the 1992 stock will be the same age as the 1962 stock when that was replaced.

    * For the motor noise fans, no they wouldn't sound the same - new inverters mean new frequencies are fed to the motors altering the sound.

I'd love to see the Jubilee with the amazing traction motor sound of the 1996 Tube Stock. We need more subway lines. Period. I'd love to see other cities like Berlin U-Bahn or NYC Subway, but I'd happily take an underground route if it's the Jubilee or the Circle.

The dispatcher is the system that works out what the trains are doing, where and when and therefore what the signals should be showing, which train goes first in the case of a conflict, which way automatic points need to be facing etc etc

As an example, say you have two trains coming onto Warrington Platform 1, one from the north and one from a siding. One is scheduled to arrive at 12:00 and is an express passenger train and the other is running 5 mins late but should have arrived at 11:57 but is a stopper.

The scheduler could slow the express OR allow the express in front (so it won't be slowed down after both stop) and it's that programming that makes the difference

The scheduler in TSW currently isn't making allowances for such things, hence requiring improvements

If you put the Sub Surface lines in there and the rest except the Bakerloo the result would be different. Because it seems like more people would like the SSL than the jubilee

Because they would give more variety of service rather than an end to end system. That does make it less likely to happen though

There would be more content with a SSL. Especially if it’s the Met or District. The Circle and H&C would provide a cool experience of operating around the inner and outer circles.
