    Hello,

i would like to suggest that the whole GWR DLC should get a electrification like in Real life, also station upgrades to TfL Rail stations. Also the Class 345 would be nice, since Dovetail already have the TfL license.

    Greetings,
    Speedjones1

DTG have said that they will not upgrade the gwe route to meet modern standards. Yes it would be cool but it's not going to happen

I have said it many times. They need to finish the current 2015 version by adding the freight and passenger branch lines between Paddington and Reading and class 165 and 180 DMUs and perhaps another freight locomotive like class 59 or 60.

And I'd love to see the 387 and the 800/802 come to TSW. 387 is half way into TSW with the 377 and upcoming 375. With some minor updates to the model and it's systems, it could be done relatively easily. And the IET family has a lot of re-usability, with it being used on many other lines. However, unfortunately it's quite unlikely to happen. The work to electrify the whole route, as well as fix bugs ect. will be too big to justify for DTG.

Keep it 2015, add to it.
Constant updates would mean loss of what we've got (ie the class 43 would have to be removed if it no longer runs on the route)
    I'm sure nobody wants that

Yeah. However, there is an upcoming add-on Great Western 1970s that adds a BR Blue Themed pack for GWE, which also adds (for the first time), multi-timetable support for a route. The principle could be the same here. 1 timetable for 1970s, 1 for 2015, and 1 for 2020s. Then you keep the HST and 166, keep the 1970s pack, and add the IETs, 387 and 345s separately. Would also love to see the Heathrow Express added with the Heathrow tunnels (currently out of the window as HX has refused to let DTG use their licence unfortunately) and under this system, you could have the HX 387s for the 2020s timetable, with the 332s for the 2015 timetable, since they'd likely want to charge a full route price for any possible Heathrow Express expansions, so 2 trains would be better than 1 at that price. We all want so many things, but we'll likely never get any of what we want, at least for upgrades to GWE :/

I’m fine if it’s set in 2015 if the 3 branch lines along it are added

Yeah, they should really add them. It breaks the immersion just stopping at the last station on the main. Plus, it's only a few extra miles collectively. I wouldn't mind paying between half and full price of a route for them, just so long as it came with the 165, which would also be a pretty easy task to do.

Exactly. Add to it. GWE has never had any DLC since its launch.

More than 3. There are no fewer than 6. There are 4 passenger and 2 freight.

    Passenger lines...
    Greenford
    Windsor Central
    Bourne End/Marlow
    Henley on Thames

    Freight only...
    Brentford Waste Terminal
    Colnbrook via Thorney Mill

Oh yes, they'd be very cool to see in TSW! However, if we did have them added, I'd like to see them add tons of faults to it so we'll be going nowhere ;) Jk, but yeah, the 180 would be great to see. And they'd hopefully be able to add them to the ECML with Grand Central if they did do the the ECMLS in the future (I'm sure we'll see that route some point in the future).

It would be cool if we got a class 800 too! I know it's not going to happen but I can dream.

Such a shame that the BR Blue Pack is to be 1970's based. Class 210 001 (above at Reading) and its slightly different 3 car sister 210 002, were awesome (if expensive) DEMUs. They spent the most part of their short lived careers between 1982-87 on Paddington to Reading and other local workings. Would be fantastic to see these represented in game as neither unit exists today. Unit 210 001 can be seen in action on YouTube...

These branch lines are about 23 miles in total so it'd be a good length DLC, considering all of the extra variety it'd bring. I think if it included the 166, 180 and some extra freight wagons for the waste services, it would be well worth the standard route price.

Agreed. Also the TEA oil tankers for Colnbrook Oil Terminal services. Perhaps the Class 60 or 70 locomotive/s would be a nice final addition

It would be cool to get the branch lines for some variety for the route

It would be nice if they added the Hitachi Class 800 IET's to GWE but they would have to only run on Diesel power on the route as the overhead lines weren't finished yet at the time

This is why I have been suggesting the Cornwall line...to give us the 800, without any electricity!

Yeah, exactly. Which makes it more perfect as it would be already ready to run on other routes with electricity. Unless they choose a train with only electric systems like the 801, then some modifications would have to be made, but not many.
