yeah its insane - the GWR skins flicker, the fences, hanger/depot doors, the OHLE - flicker is my pet peeve in games too.
To keep the epic hype thread alive.... TSW for Xbox is coming, with GWE as the core route. Release next week! Good news for anyone who has had issues playing on their computer

DTG just posted: So not to brag, but Amtrak have just asked us to tone down the realism on one of the trains in NEC New York... appears to be related to security systems. https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/970653776209235968
Probably labels on switches in the engine room (if I were to guess). Or maybe it's related to being able to "cold start" the engine. Could even be the backup camera for reverse movements. It's anyone's' guess.
REALLY hope that it's not the reverse camera. Would be nice to have PiP systems in the cab, if only to see the functionality beyond the turntable. Honestly, though, it's just another function that works to make it so you can perform every operation from the cab view.
@DTG_James is any of this for CSX? as I have posted more bugs on the steam forums and yet hear nothing. in terms of CSX stuff what is planned there?
You realize the encrypted DLC is New York, right? If you click on the depot number, it does just open up the NEC page. There is nothing new going on there. Just the redistributables, core game, and the 4 DLC.
The patch coming alongside NEC probably hasn't been uploaded to Steam yet as they're still working on it.
The patch wouldn't be showing up as a DLC-the patches would be somewhere in the Branches, like the rc_internal, rc_preview, and development thing. Which always get updated quite a bit.
I just hope theyve improved the passenger quantity in both maps......half the stations in GWE still have no passengers and rapid transit.....i dont know germany but if it boasts a busy line.....its dead on the game, more passengers......more ambient sound.....and why are train doors shut for 10mins before departure? Especially at paddington that takes away ALOT of realism, peoole should be loading until 40seconds before departure not a 1min slot when the train sits there for 20mins.
I don't really play the GWE route. but having more for CSX would be nice. like why do we have to load coal but we don't get to take it to unload it. we need like a power plant or steel mill that uses coal. that would be nice.
Main focus is on improving existing TSW content at the moment. Might have news on additional content a little further down the line - Jay
DLC 7? The numbers there keep going down, oddly enough. Maybe it is something that has been in the works since before GWE...or maybe they are just reusing an old DLC depot that was once home to something else...or maybe it means a DLC set in the past. :P
Will the SD40 and GP40 updated too? The GP38 has new gauge lights and the other still black needles at the night.
Whilst it would be good to see the Acela in TSW, I doubt it would be released so soon after NEC: New York. The GP40-2 dlc wasn't released for 8 months after CSX Heavy Haul. Whilst the production time should have reduced due to the developers becoming more experienced with the technology, they still wouldn't be able to make an Acela in this timeframe. Personally, I think it is much more likely to be a dlc for Great Western Express, hopefully the Class 387. Also, if it was the editor, I doubt that it would be provided as a dlc. They would probably just add it as part of a free update. If they do release the editor as a dlc, I hope that it will be a free dlc as I will be very disappointed if DTG charges extra for the editor.
What's the point of running Acela under 70 mph limit anyways? I mean, there is a few 90-100mph segments, but I rarely can accelerate to that speed before time to penalty or Approach Medium hits me with a lower restriction.
Absolutely no chance the editor ends up being a paid DLC, that would be extremely anti-consumer and a great way to alienate the fanbase. - Jay
