When I did the Pride in Service locos, I used a skewed triangle from the side and maxed both projection settings.
And it's finished. Or at least as finished as it can be with only 300 layers for the whole train-- a lot of the little technical markings had to be left out. (I still think it looks better than generic white) Forty-Six-Point-Two Klicks Out
Do you play on PC? Any possibilty then to upload that livery to trainsimcommunity or the german railsim-forum? I'd love to play with that fine work!!
Did a variation of some kind of Intercity livery on the Talent 2 a while back. I've also done it in grey, but don't have any shots of that. This is running from Paddington to Reading along the express line. I also made a purple Princess livery for my lady on some 72 stock.
I think I may, after I tweak it a bit. Sadly, elements created in LE are not as high-res as native graphic elements, so in closeup all the little details start to blur out.
Awesome! Instant Download. With your permission I could upload it in the RS-D. Of course with credit to you!
I’ve always loved the INRD’s scheme, nice job. If you want to do another, I think there’s one that’s mostly white with red text.
Yeah they have the patched over SOO units. I made the boxcar for them so I may do that one later today.
I did. Thank you. Here is the link: https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/6526-ice-3m-br-406-tee-fiktiv/
If you like it, you can download it here: https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/6546-ice-3-br-403-175-jahre-eisenbahn-fiktiv/ (Of course PC only)
This looks really amazing. Great job. I don't know how many layers you have left (especially on the head cars), but I'd try to stretch the grey frame colour all the way to the first bogie like IRL 403. It seems a bit weird for it to end on the other car all of a sudden (this should only be one layer fix). If you have some more layers left, some markings on the side frames might also help a lot. Then again, it looks amazing.
I changed it, thanks for the feedback. And improved minor things like the ICE symbol at the dining car and some Telekom-Advertisment. Of course available as download
Following from shenanigans on Saturday night's stream, here's the NatWork Rail livery I said I was working on for DTG Natster . I'm not the best at livery editor, but it's a start. The 423 is an apropriate choice as it's probably the one most likely to "do a Natalie" at the station given how poor its brakes can be. The end doors are highlighted red as they're the ones that'll be getting most use.
One weekend work sometimes in September I think? This train is not to 100% realistic, because there is a limit of 300 objects per coach and the real train has 5 cars. The train has the number 442 354/442 854 and drives in reality around Rostock, sometimes also around Schwerin. And as comparison, now a picture from the real train:
Are you on PC? You coud use the livery designer Logo mod to replace 'your' DB logo (probably 3-4 layers) with the real one (1 layer), so you have at least a little bit more space for something else. Also this makes it look more realistic.
When I first got TSW2, the first thing I did was check out the livery designer and found it difficult and confusing to use. I called my first designs "swirl express" because I had placed a swirl on them as a logo. obviously they proved less than satisfactory after I learned how to use the designer better so recently I decided to remake them as Hyperton units. here is the first one:
also I forgot to put the road re-numbering and stuff on ex-swirl express loco. and happy HST day (1-25)
Finally finished the Baden-Württemburg Talent 2. Ran out of layers so there's a few things missing (DTG we need at least double the amount if you can't let us create logos like in the Ride and Moto GP games) but overall it's not bad.
Hmm I wonder if DTG is trying to discourage the making of logos and trains that exist in the real world
It's over 50 layers grouped together. Took a fair bit of time and effort right enough but possible if you have the patience.
Hi all, New to the livery creator. When painting a loco - particularly the US content, how do I get it's so that the handrails are painted separate to the body? I seem to be having an issue when I add layers, the colours of that layer also change the handrails
The inspiration is a Lionel CSX AC6000 Heritage model. This is the best I could figure out. 290 layers. 60 layers just to write Western Maryland 4 times plus the layers used to make the font look more correct.
A boxcar for Sand Patch in an older grey CSX livery (this is the showroom version; I haven't dirtied it up yet!) For dirt and grime, here's a 'generic' coal hopper (RR will sometimes do a quick-and-dirty markup when there isn't time for a full livery paint job)
This is better shown than explained, but I’ll try. The first thing I suggest is to do your handrails last, meaning they should be your top layers. When you place a shape to paint the handrails, you need to change the projection settings. In the options for projection, you’ll see two sliders. The top slider should be set all the way to the right and the bottom slider should be pushed to the left. As you slide it to the left you will eventually see that the fill of your shape changes. So you want to move it to the left just enough that it’s still “painting” the loco, but only the handrails. It’s tricky and I still have issues with it myself, especially the handrails on the front and back of the loco. Someone else may be able to provide a screenshot if my steps weren’t clear. Hope this helps.
That moment you realise that there isn't any Australian content available, so you decide to kitbash an SD40-2 into one of your favourite liveries. I'm sure any other Queensland Rail fans out there would appreciate this WIP. Not fully accurate, but hey, it's a start. Far from complete though.
