Why can’t something be done about the lack of time given to set up the train on this route. It is virtually impossible to set the train up properly including destination blinds and saloon lights without it resulting in you departing late on what is a very tight schedule in the first place. I’m not the first person to report this by any means but I do not see the issue being added to the Roadmap or any answer by DTG in this forum.
Same, on bakerloo to set up rear lights and destination i literally have to speed to next stop to arrive early enough to go to the back.
Waiting for a response from a Community member of staff or even Sam on this one. Despite many players raising this issue on all formats it appears it is being ignored. If it’s not why doesn’t it appear on the Roadmap at all? It’s not even something you have to try and replicate. Why is it that time has been spent getting major landmarks to appear on consoles when it doesn’t actually effect gameplay whilst this certainly does?
This was designed that way probably because of some quick turnarounds that the AI has to do in the timetable, possibly from when the full timetable was planned. As the timetable and all the instructions are the same for the player and AI, this leaves the player in an impossible race against the clock. I’m not sure they will look at it because it will probably require adjusting the start times of every single service and testing the timetable again as if it was a new timetable. That’s an awful lot of work just to give the players an extra 30 seconds to flick some switches in the cab. I can’t see DTG agreeing to do that work to be honest. With the sheer number of other issues to address I doubt this would ever get near the top of the list.
It should be more top of the list than placing landmarks in the game. They don’t have to change the actual timetable just allow more time to set up. It effects gameplay.
The landmarks thing is possibly a ten minute job that will be added on when they change something else. And it won’t need as much testing as a timetable change. Allowing more time to set up will change the timetable though. It changes the start time (when the player spawns in) of every service. This will affect some of the end times of services which do the quick turnarounds. The timetable is quite finely tuned on Bakerloo. It will need extensive testing if the player spawn times are changed, even if the set off times remain the same.
I would venture that in the RL Tube timetable, "quick" turnarounds are longer than 30 seconds. And most timetable services across TSW as a whole do not involve turnarounds: you run them from origin to terminus, and I don't imagine that when you spawn into a cab in Aachen, there's another train spawning out of a portal headed for your platform from behind 30 seconds out.
