You can buy a lot of routes here on DTG but when you have finished them they are like a waste of space? Many makers of routes here have 1 route here and then nothing or scenario packs on their homepage. Why are they not releasing them on Steam too so you can play it more with more scenarios? Now there are many routes with just 2-3 scenarios and those you finish in a few hours. Why do not DTG ask the makers to make scenario packs for the routes they have added here instead releasing new routes instead all the time? I really enjoy Sherman Hill and that they have released a lot of scenario packs for it but I also want scenario packs for other routes.
I'm not 100% sure what exactly you're looking for, but it seems you're upset that routes don't come with enough scenarios? I agree! There are a few options for you though: 1. Steam Workshop - ALL Routes support Steam Workshop where you can add scenarios created by other players for FREE. Go into your Library in Steam, click on Train Simulator, and at the bar near the top of the page you'll see "Workshop". Go there and you can search for the route you want and guaranteed you'll find a ton of good, FREE, scenarios. 2. Scenario Packs - DTG has released scenario packs for some of their routes (but not all). These are usually $8 USD but if you wait for a sale they're often closer to $4-$5 USD. Routes made by Just Trains and Rivet Games also have some Free and Paid scenario packs on their websites. 3. Make your own - The Editor that comes built in to Train Simulator is pretty powerful. You can easily learn it after watching a Youtube tutorial and then make scenarios for yourself to drive on whichever Route you want with whatever trains you want.
1.Workshops I will not touch anymore because have used workshops before and after a while the game becomes unplayable and crash everytime when you try and start it and you have to make a full reinstall. 2.There are makers which has scenario packs on their website for some routes they have on Steam/DTG. 3.I do not have time or interest to make my own routes.
I have never encountered an issue with Scenarios from the workshop building up and crashing my game. I have with other games where the workshop may be adding new models, features, etc. Cities Skylines was a good example of this. But that's not how Train Simulator works. Generally speaking, the scenarios only make use of assets that you already have in the game. They don't add new stuff most of the time, and should have no effect on the stability of the game. Honestly, if you're not willing to download new scenarios from the workshop, I don't know what to tell you. You're not going to be happy no matter what. Train Simulator relied on community created scenarios through the workshop or other third party add-on sites to expand on the scenarios that come with each route. That's how it was intended to work, and how it works.
There are a lot of scenario packs for various routes on ATS... including freeware routes. Also, a lot of stand alone scenarios have been uploaded to ATS... I think there's even one or two of mine on there.
