I Played Sehs Early Through A Steam Console Trick, I Am Not Amused

After playing the DLC in my own way, so not what they want you to see on stream, I am not amused. Littered with bugs, the only sound I hear in the cab is the clicking of the throttle handle, I don't care if the cab is quiet IRL, this is a game/sim, I wanna hear something, this is not driver training, this is for amusement. The guard buzzer doesn't make any noise, nor do I get a request by a ghost guard. The lighting outside, not even the tunnels, into the cab looks really long, how is the sun reflecting on my desk if it is coming from such a low angle just after sunrise. Why is the horrible camera position still not fixed in the 375, it's not a toddler driving is it? I know business deadlines can be tough, but give the QA team some proper time, cause right now it feels like they got it 1 week before launch. This route can be something so amazing. Just the little extra time of the white livery for the 375, a better camera position, proper sounds for the 395, and some lighting improvements and this DLC will thrive! But at it's current state I can't recommend it.
P.S. I bought the DLC like a good boy, I didn't obtain it illegally, just a method not widely known to the public

 

I'd go with he's probably not playing the release build.

 

This is literally the version which is unlocked at release, it's already in the steam database, that's how I got it.

No, realism should always be a priority. If the cab is quiet the sim should be quiet

Lighting is a problems also seen on the stream and will be fixed after release

No in game camera position is fixed, you can turn off head sway if you like to

If he is only hearing throttle lever sounds then yeah, there was definitely cab sounds in yesterdays' stream, unless they tried to fix some broken sounds and bonked something but pushed it into a release build instantly.

sorry there are sounds, but they are so quiet that they are barely audible. Sorry should have elaborated.

 

Various little things such as wiper sounds, yes, Matt mentioned maybe having a look at sound levels from the track & on the 395, but not that they would definitely change them, hopefully they do though.

 

Given how much LGV improved since release I want to have faith in DTG and buy the route immediately and I expect those things to change relatively quickly

 

I did think that the Javelin did not sound asif it was even powered when it was stopped, but there was actual sound, I do agree that there was missing sounds still, and I think that the lack of exterior noise when in the cab is far too insulated, but Matt and Sam kept going back to the motor locations which would be irrelevant to the noise from the track, ambience, wind & electrical hum that you get in the 395 cab.

As for the 375 it's just a write off for me, it's a real shame that they made 0 progress from the 377 except from the interior change.

 

btw it is most definitely the release version, since I can see the freight and rail tour services

 

I'll buy based on what I saw, I will try running the 395 with the cab doors open to increase the audio, depending on how badly that will effect my immersion.

Hopefully they go ahead with some more audio tweaks.

Hi Natster, I am not saying you are wrong since you are the dev, but there has only been 1 version published to steam which includes the freight and railtour, so I am pretty confident in saying I am playing what is an exact copy of the release candidate.

But this release played today is literally the one which will be 'unlocked' in a few days? Its not like there's going to be another release added in two days. This IS the final version people have been playing.

 

You are aware DTG have to have a build in the system to hit the release window. If the build isn't submitted in time, they won't get certified in time.

Once submitted and approved they can do what they like with that database entry, so the version on there might not be the final version they unlock.

Thanks for your very professional response. Responses like these get threads locked. Clearly you are unaware that anything released on steam gets uploaded days in advance. Just google 'unlock steam DLC early' and draw your own conclusions.

I actually try to be very polite. But I am pretty darn sure I am in the right here, I have worked with the steam system for a long long time.

it's not illegal btw, I am using a system designed by steam, not breaking any EULA, also I paid for the DLC in full, so I have no clue why I should be banned according to some.

Several people have literally been sharing their screenshots of SEHS in FB groups and this is nothing new. In the past we have seen various releases being played 'early' via Steam Console and none of these releases differed to the 'official' release at it was exactly the same version, albeit played early.

This release is simply ready 'sitting there' until it gets released publicly.

Doesn't mean it's the release version though. DTG could still update it before unlocking it. Just because it is sat there doesn't mean its "the build".

 

Serious question, why do you continue to buy the dlc and play the game when you view it with such negativity?

 

It is not only very easy to access an unlocked build via Steam CMD, it is also perfectly legitimate as it is a program provided by Steam. There is obviously a check in place to guarantee you can not access the file without having pre ordered it so nothing here is illegal, and thus shall not be met with consequences from Steam.

Yes, it is possible for DTG to push another update before release. However, this is a build from yesterday/today and Matt has confirmed that what was shown in the stream is what will be released. So I can hardly imagine seeing any changes made to the route or train before the release on the 4th February.

 

Does the version you are playing have test in the top right of the screen when loading? As Matt's version did so still want final.

 

Taking a bit of a risk isn’t it, breaking into the software early then coming on to the official forum to slag it off, then posting a video teaching others how to do the same. It’s not very gentlemanly conduct is it? Poor show all round if you ask me.

 

Yeah I've just watched one of the posters on here playing the 395 tutorial. Interesting video as you drive the opposite way to what was shown in the streams so the lighting is slightly different and it is a longer tutorial than previous ones.

 

Check the guy's history. It's honestly a wonder he plays the game given how much he hates it.

 

Bit harsh there, Natalie can only tell us what she has been told and naturally seeing as it's not officially released yet one would be forgiven for assuming it isn't the final build.

Yes, it is almost definitely what everyone will get on Thursday, but it's understandable that the CMs are misinformed.
