I've just run one of the railtours ending up in Gravesend. Once I'd completed it, I went back to 'Freeroam' and took a seat in one of the carriages to see what was at the end of the line...and it was quite interesting.

The train carried on off the spur that heads north to the west of Gravesend and carried on for quite some distance, certainly well off the mapped track. The scenery detailing was as good as the mapped route for a good mile or so off the actual map, before it started to lose buildings, fences, trees, etc, but the line continued off the southwest. It crosses back over the mapped line, then carries on along an increasingly sparsely populated landscape until it eventually comes to a halt and the screen appears to freeze...but there was no message to say that you have exceeded to boundries and a return to the menu. Out of curiosity, I hit the free camera view and was able to follow what looks like a work in progress line well off the map with what looks like a town on the 'coast' (or at least, the land becomes blue) that appears to be a work in progress too. It is WAY beyond what would seem to be the normal draw rate for buildings on the horizon (I certainly can't see anything back in the distance of where the mapped line is), but with the 'STOP - Telephone Signaller' and the greyed out 'Press X to call signaller' pop up box on the signal post phones I found earlier today, it really has got me wondering if DTG have got a possible route extension in the pipe line. From following the line on Google Maps and from where I ended up with the freeview, it seems to be somewhere around Dartford.

No idea how to upload the screenshots, but if someone can give me a crash course, I'd be happy to put a few up.

It could be something, it could be nothing. Time will tell.
When in freeview though, you're able to go much higher (at least several hundred feet) than you can in the mapped areas of the game and can see that it is quite a large piece of terrain of many square miles with some blue borders that look like water, but I'd suspect are just where the terrain for what could be a WiP area ends.
