So we all know that the Class 395 sounds are work in progress , but within 2 weeks for release, i hope that the team does a propor job. The sounds should be improved and be louder in the cab ( no excuses of the traction motors being on the middle cars). This link shows how the sound should be in the cab, i don't know if it is a mod ir not but if the person can do it, DTG can do that as well and you have more workers. The sound of the throttle is a joke because you reused the same on of the Class 377 and this shows how the should be. All credicts go to Moleman978 and the ones involved in the video.
I already made a post speculating about this. I'm glad people do worry about this kind of stuff and I hope DTG takes sound seriously with this route
Is important that we talk or discuss this thinks to give DTG some feedback. I really hope that they fix the throttle sound on the Class 395
Wasn't sure whether to post in here or stutters as it's relevant to both. Now minor stutters loading in each tile is something I can live with, it's hardly noticeable on my SSD and as the sound never cuts out, I don't really take much notice, however the 395 is the only loco/unit that suffers from complete sound cut out when these little stutters happen, it's become really really annoying, especially at high speed, anyone else suffering from this? I'm hoping this is rectified with a future sound patch.
sorry to hear you are having these problems, but I haven’t noticed any such problems. In fact, I have been playing around with my graphic settings and started using supersampling via DSR. Even with running at 150% haven’t noticed any stutters nor sound cutting out. Hope you get it sorted. Just for all you FPS counters out there, you have to love your FPS in the tunnels
The sound cuts are a general issue in all routes since the early game releases. You can also notice them in sand patch for instance if you are using horn when a new tile is just loaded. About the 395 it´s true that it´s very silent. It should be balanced to the levels in the ICE3 for instance. But despite the existing mods the reallity is that the distributed power is the reason for it. You can´t have a noisy as hell cab as you don´t have the entire engine room behind, just the power group on first bogie close to you. Cheerd
Yep. I think so many people don't get this. Even in the ICE, the lead car is powered which is why you hear the traction. The 395 end cars are completely unpowered with the first traction motor a little over a full car length away from the cab. Combine this with the fact that the cab was specifically built with soundproofing in mind, and you get a train that you can barely hear accelerating from the cab. The wind hitting your windshield will be more audible than the motors. The reused sounds on the route suck, don't get me wrong, and it's awfully lazy of DTG to reuse sounds when the real-life sound is different; I'd rather have the real sounds be synthesized if the team can't get a faithful recording than an unrealistic sound from another train pasted in, but let's be clear than any loudening of the traction motor sounds from within the cab would be at the expense of realism. I have nothing against it, and I've downloaded the sound mod myself; it just moves away from the direction of realism that so many players here aim for.
Can I suggest you watch the video linked below (skip to about 4:45)..... It’s from a few seats behind the front cab of a 395 and you’ll find you can’t hear any traction motor sounds. As was mentioned in the live feeds and as a previous reply has said the driving coaches don’t have any powered bogies so you don’t hear traction motor sounds. Now bearing in mind how little you can hear in this video in the passenger cabin what do you expect the cab is like with its soundproofing???
