.ini Editors: Controlling Tree Pop-in

    Two more commands which really reduce this effect. How much depends how fast you're going, of course. Walking or running it goes away completely; chuggin' along up Sand Patch at 25 mph you have to look for it. An ICE at speed is still overrunning the draw distance.

    Sadly, nothing can be done about the shadow-pop-in, which affects trees badly.

    foliage.ForceLOD=0
    (Forces LOD to its maximum )
    foliage.DitheredLOD=8 (Instead of popping in all at once, foliage fades in over n seconds, here 8)

    Does the force LOD command work with LOD Distance Scale?

    Yes. AIUI (I might be wrong), foliage.LODDistanceScale controls when the trees appear at all; ForceLOD makes them appear with full detail from the start.

    Hi,

    I use just foliage.LODDistanceScale=4 and it solves the popping issues to me.
