Is it just me or are the destinations on that PIS board really small?

Seems good. Hopefully it will sound good as well, shame we didn't get any shots from the cab.

It looks like the Destination Boards can't be set manually again, that's very disappointing. Is it really THAT hard to implement a simple code system?

Last sentence of the article: "Keep an eye on @trainsimworld on Twitter and Facebook for more screenshots and videos of the new route."

So what is the new route that is coming with the train?? :o

It's being done on a console so I highly doubt they've got a build for the 465 on there yet

Strange. As I usually feel like my whole body is burning literally everytime I have to spend money regardless of the occasion this would be the perfect opportunity for me to moan why this release is so close to the one of SEHS and why it surely must have been better for everyone to include it in the base DLC...

... but as I was enjoying SEHS even before the update and with todays patch and this preview I somehow am only looking forward to it and will happily add it to my collection soon after release.

    Strange times! :)

Nice model, it will be a great addition to the route! I haven't seen one in reality for at least 15 years now (last time I visited Britain the Eurostar still terminated at Waterloo and HS1 wasn't even close to being finished!) unfortunately so I'm not too familiar with all details. :)

They updated all builds today, and it’s unlikely we’ll see another patch so soon just for the 465, support for it was likely added today.

with that said I doubt we’ll see it tonight, they don’t typically leave first looks down to a surprise.

There are no trophies showing for the 465 on PS4. They usually show if a DLC is due, so either they haven’t updated yet, or it’s not due for at least another week.

--- "The BR Class 465 EMU Networker is coming soon to Train Sim World 2
ready to use on Southeastern High Speed
and on other routes with Scenario Planner." ---

    WHAT???
If i buy this Class 465, then i expect i can use it in the ECW-Route in normal timetable-mode, not
only in this pre-alpha version of a scenario planer.
Is it to difficult to just add a loco to other routes and use the timetables that are already there?

So no SEHS and no Class 465 .... thank you dtg, saved money.

The 465 doesn’t even run on ECW, so why would you expect DTG to add services for it there?

Will the destination blinds actually be changeable, or is it auto like the 395?

Something tells me they wont, but I'm only speculating here

Beacuse it's the 464/9 were getting the metro cam motor sounds which is what makes a networker iconic

If this is so important, why you can run the 465 in ECW in the scenarion planer?

It's easy to just choose a loco or emu and play a timetable at various times.
But it takes a long time to create various scenarios at various times in the scenario planer, because you can't
copy scenarios and you can't set a master-time for a saved scenario.

The timetables are already there, why can't i just use them for other trains? (just rhetorical question)

That’s why you have to even select a further option within the planner to use non realistic units, the planner doesn’t just take power modes into consideration.

At the end of the day it’s a simulator, the core game mode is the timetable mode, and the realism line has to be drawn somewhere, the scenario planner gives you much more choice to do what you want, which is why that is there.

But there maybe more to see on SEHS than before - patch notes state: "Added new Class 66 services to Timetable Mode that make use of Hoo Junction with shunting and other interesting game play."

The timetable system in the game works by giving each service a list of trains that are appropriate for running that service. If unrealistic trains are able to be used for services, it would mean that it would also show up on AI services. Considering (I'm assuming) the majority of players wouldn't want that, they can't add different trains to timetable mode, but it would still work in scenarios.

Will services in Timetable Mode be automatically updated to select the Class 465 instead of the Class 375? I'd image this would apply to all Rainham to Gravesend services, as well as a handful of the Gillingham to Victoria services. As a local it does feel odd to see Class 375s on the stretch between Strood and Gravesend.

They made the decision to add those services in to provide more gameplay on the route, they aren’t going to now take it away and tell people to pay £11.49 to get that gameplay back, and I wouldn’t expect them to make an entirely separate timetable which ensures all MVL services are served just by the 465 for those that do purchase it.

The 465 will purely be a substitution DLC as confirmed by Matt.

Well, if so, will the 375 timetable work with 465 which is a bit slower (max 75 mph)? It would be much better with "Baby bullet - solution" where 465 would replace 375 on particular services for people having the DLC, while others could still run the same services using the Electrostar. And... Hopefully the sounds will be good and not broken from the start waiting for update.

The networkers have never been dark blue, that has generally been for the regional routes rather than the metro routes which the networker and 376 run

Quote from the article : "Originally supplied in Network SouthEast livery and branded "Kent Link Networker", it's where it earnt its more commonly used alias, The Networker."
I was under the impression that all of the classes called "networker" were called this from the off including classes 165,166,316,365,465 & 466. Not sure the post is accurate that it was the other way round

Yeah I’m fairly certain the original proposal to BR was for a new family called the ‘Networkers’, not a name that was derived after the fact.

For this to be a success, I think we can all agree that they have to get the iconic sounds of the 465 dead on. While I am sure it'll be good if they get it wrong, it would definitely ruin the ambience of the train, Visually though, the train does look stunning. Also, I really hope they let us change destinations for the 465. Even if it is changed using codes, it shouldn't be too hard at all to include a list of codes in the manual for the train. All in all though, I am very excited for the Class 465. Even if it's not perfect, I'll definitely be getting this.

Definitely looking forward to the 465. She is looking particularly good in the screenshots shared so far. I hope the sounds really do her justice. The ‘F1’ like sound is a joy for the ears.

I’m not sure about this DLC yet. It certainly looks good and would add variety to the route but now that we have been given the services that would have been exclusive to it for the 375 in the main route, I’m not sure it adds as much value as it would have. Of course, the final route you end up with will be the same as what it would have been, but we have the services now without it. I suppose it all comes down to the quality of the model, and if you really desire this unit. The view out of the cab will be better than the 375, that’s one thing it has going for it straight away.

The new and official Southeastern livery is the dark blue livery used on the Class 375s. The Class 465s were repainted and refurbished a few years ago and were put into the then-official lilac/dark blue livery, which a few Class 375s were put in as well (it looked stunning on the 375s IMO). Before that, they were in the old yellow/grey livery (introduced by Connex on the 375s but later put on the Networkers by the publicly owned SET), which the 376s, which haven't been touched inside and out since they were introduced 17 or so years ago, still wear. The 395 livery is a bit of an odd-one out, and with the 395s inexplicably being refurbished soon, their livery and interior might be replaced with the 375 interior and livery. The 508s got a weird hybrid of the grey/yellow and lilac/dark blue livery, having a lilac/grey livery. The 377s are, contrary to popular belief, not in Southeastern blue livery. While they clearly don't have the SE interior, the dark blue livery on them is actually First Capital Connect's purple corporate livery, that has been lightly modified to look vaguely like SE's dark blue livery.

Back in the day (by which I mean about 8 years ago), we had a nice mix of liveries on Southeastern, with the different combinations of white liveries on the Networkers and Electrostars. I miss those days in a way.
Ironically, I thought that the 465/466 sounds in Train Simulator actually sounded better than the real life motors. :D
