This reminds me of the fence ‘fix’. It almost seems like any constructive criticism pointed out by the community, the developers act as if it’s a burden and do a sloppy job to fix it, to prove a point. I’m sorry but you wouldn’t have to fix it if it was done right in the first place...
I dont like to think or say that, but is it possible to do a worse fix for an instrument light. Make it not illuminate?
Some work on the Class 375 instrument lights... - Higher resolution text and numbers - Altered backlight colours appropriate for the 375 - Orange top speed marker now corrected to red - Low resolution light fade out removed - Glow added where appropriate - LED 'spotlights' around edges - Background changed from black to slightly grey
I really hate to say it, since I (at least) hope it is unfair, but the thing DTG did with the fences is an upright middle finger in the communities face. From one extreme to the other. I really appreciate the job the modders are doing, they are helping to make the game really amazing, when DTG is unfortunately more and more often just dropping the ball. I hope they don't start relying on modders to fix the game :/ But then, SEH seems to be a problem child from the very beginning with the delayed release and everything, so there might be underlying factors we are not aware off. But for one of the most hyped routes, it is sad to see that it becomes THE route where mods are released on day one and a whole lot of fixes are worked on immediately after release, and still leaving a lot to desired.
Its good that despite no official support so much of the game can be altered and there are some very good modders on here and elsewhere rolling their sleeves up and giving it a go. Each week it seems something else can be adjusted and the pace of new mods is really picking up now.
Now out! *Download changed. See latest post* To install, simply download from the link and place the .pak inside your DLC folder, located at: ...steamapps\common\Train Sim World 2\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC Let me know what you think of it
I done that did you two worked togheter on this mod just saying that because some posters are the same and gsm has the same texture in the 395
Everything is great except this - The cab becomes too bright at night (Service 2K40 from Journey). Is there any way to fix it?
Hello. It seems my texture changes caused the shading to go all weird, for whatever reason. To fix it, that unfortunately meant I had to remove any cab changes, and revert back to default. Also note this patch removes the track ballast changes and reverts them back to default. You can download the fix from here
*Due to weird lighting issues caused by some texture changes, I've had to remove some items, such as the ballast changes and the 377 cab changes.*** Apologies for any inconvenience You can download the revised version from here
This is spectacular! It is all great, but I particularly love the new walls at Stratford, the freight wagons, and the gauges; it makes a huge difference to see the gauges lit up well when you are in the tunnels with the Javelin. Many, many thanks for all that you do!
Morning.... I appear to have found an issue with the revised headlights on the 375 (Not sure if it also affects the revised headlights on the 395 as I've not driven that today). With the patch installed when you approach any signals with feathers the feathers are illuminated by the train lights so that it looks as though they are lit to signal you onto a diverse route. All the feathers on the signal look to be illuminated so looks strange when there are more than one on the signal but could be confusing when the signal only has one. I have uninstalled the patch to check it wasn't something that was there before and the feathers go back to being dark when running without the patch. (The train was running with daytime lights in both instances so the bright headlight was furthest from the cess/signals and this happened at every signal with feathers not just the one shown in the pictures). I've attached some pics showing roughly the same positions with the patch and without the patch to show what I mean about the feathers.
I’ve seen the same thing. Not sure if it’s the change in headlight texture or a change londonmidland made to the signal gantry textures themselves. Sure he’ll get it sorted
I noticed this too, but it's not the train headlights, as it does it where there's no trains around. Maybe LM altered the texture quality of the feathers. I reported it here https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...rs-reflecting-sun-light-see-screenshot.35796/
Yes you guys are correct. It doesn't appear to be train related. (I had assumed it was because I noticed they went out just as I was about to pass the signals each time) This is the same signal pictured above when exploring on foot.
Rudolf WaveyDavey Reverted the changes to the signal 'feathers' so its as it was by default. Any remaining issues it may have is something DTG will need to fix. Download here
So it is harder than it looks then londonmidland? Nice effort but perhaps don't be so hasty on the "insta-hate" in future?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but what happened to our good fellow, @hightower? His account seems to be deleted shortly after he withdrew his SEHS mod. I know that you have corresponded with him before, londonmidland. Does anyone know? Cheers
He chose to withdraw his account because I think he was over cautious about getting in trouble for his mods.
absolutely blown away by this. It’s amazing how small details bring this game to life. if I could be so cheeky and I’m sure others would like to know , would you be open to doing a YouTube video explaining how to do all this, how to use the apk files etc. Genuinely inspired by your work and I’d love to try.
Thanks for the comment. I’m really not good at doing video tutorials as I’ve never done it before. The tutorial I used to learn is an old TSW reskin video. I’m sure you’ve seen it before if you type in TSW reskin tutorial.
Would anyone have a link please? I’m not sure where I’m starting on YouTube. Be nice to try and contribute
Soooo I've got as far as downloading unreal engine. I've copied one of the PAK profiles to a safe space and tried to open with Winzip but no joy. Can someone help a "willing idiot" out please? Any links, videos etc to get me on my way would be really appreciated. Thank you
ToolkitForTSW can unpack Unreal .pak files very easily, though you need an unreal tool for it. I did not yet create something to do the reverse. If anyone can explain me with enough detail how to do that, I would love to include that as well.
If there’s any links to the programmes and software that’d be appreciated. I’m working through the above video
Say Londonmidland, did you include some station announcements by any chance? I have heard a station announcement twice where a service to Gillingham was called out to be late and also a reason why. In another thread I mentioned this, but people would not believe me. I doubt that it is actually connected to any service, but I am sure I heard it twice. Once at Rochester and once at Chatham to be precise. And if it is not on the route by default, I guessed maybe you added these in?
Alright, that explains a lot! Very nice improvement with these announcements by the way. It shows how much these relatively small touch ups improve the game.
Hey guys! Seeing as the Thameslink 700 is coming out for this route soon, I thought I'd make further improvements to the mod. This will be uploaded into one mod once all changes are complete, with the main pak being updated. (The older versions should be removed once the new mod goes live, to avoid confliction. Disclaimer: It'll be a while before everything is complete!) Some changes I made today: I have started work on the signalling, by improving their visuals (both RGB values as well as the metal backplate of the signal itself) By default, the signals are incredibly dim looking, as well the the colour of the aspects not looking quite right. I have fixed this, by changing the RGB values, as well as amending the brightness of the LEDs. This has a significant impact with its viewing abilities, particularly at night.
