Hi, i just wanted to take a drive at the sand patch route and now i am getting a UE4 crash at the start of TSW. I did not change anything on the system, no driver update or anything. TSW just wont start anymore, the game was running without problems since release... i did reinstall it but the error stays. WTF is going on now? Why do the game crash now for no reason?
I have found what causes the problem, its the last windows update. (KB4088776) If i uninstall it TSW runs, but windows automatically installs it again and after that i get the UE4 crash at TSW startup... so how i can solve this? Thats causing the UE4 crashes:
I do not believe the issue is with this specific update as I have the same update on my computer and there are no issues. I am able to start up Train Sim World and complete a run without issues. Not sure what to say that may help other than submit a ticket to DTG for further help.
Like i wrote after deinstalling this windows update TSW runs fine, if it's installed i get the instant UE4 crashes at TSW startup. Yes I allready submitted a ticket to the support.
All I was trying to say I have the same update on my computer as you do and it is not causing any issues for me.
Yeah I don't why it's causing on my PC problems, I hope the next DTG or Windows update fixes it. I hope I find a solution or I have to refund the NEC DLC in the next days.
Oke i can confirm this! I have this problem too! What you can do for a fast solution: Delete this update and the game runs. When you reinstall this again the game crash again. I have made a support ticket and explain this problem. I'm wainting for futher information.
Hi Guys, Curious issue this one - I've passed this over to the engineers to see if they can understand the reason. In the meantime could you try this: 1. Install the KB4088776 update 2. The KB4088776 update appears to affect the graphics driver update protocols and it is likely something has been affected. Please try reinstalling your Graphics Drivers and then also attempt to reinstall DirectX (you'll find the Setup for this in the Train Sim World\_CommonRedist\DirectX folder). 3. Make sure you restart your PC when instructed but let me know if this has had any effect. Best, Steve
When you read the option from TrainSime Steve than you know that your option is not relevant Anyway thanks!
Today there was a Nvidia driver update and with the TSW patch and NEC DLC no problem so far. TSW starts without any problems.
Great to hear that Daniel. How is everyone else getting on? Has the driver update helped? Best, Steve
The issue for me has been solved, But since there was also an update for TSW too, can't say for sure whether it was the Nvidia driver update that solved the issue, but it's sorted and that's all that matters.
Hi all, My windows 10 updated last night and I'm having the same issue. I played TSW last night, and now it won't start. Nvidea drivers are up to date and I've restarted a few times. Are there any other possible solutions? Thanks. Rob.
Thanks for letting us know Rob, when you say TSW won't start, does it give you any error messages? Also, could you let me know which version of Windows you're currently on. You can find the current version number by clicking the Start button, type "Settings" and press Enter, then click System and then About - the version number is listed under the Windows specifications heading. Best, Steve
Hi Steve, It's windows 10 - version 1709, OS Build 16299.431 When I start TSW, the splash screen appears, then I get an Unreal Engine 4 crash reporter: Please let me know if you need further info. I've reinstalled TSW, and graphics driver has been updated, but still happens. Thanks. Rob.
Thanks for the update Rob, This might be a silly suggestion, and I'm sure you have tried this already, but have you tried restarting your computer? If this hasn't fixed the problem for you, would you mind dropping a ticket into Customer Support and include a DxDiag report, and your crash dumps (you can find these in %userprofile%/Documents\My Games\TS2Prototype\Saved\Crashes - just copy and paste this to Windows Explorer, and make sure you zip up the entire folder). Once you've done this, pop back here and let me know what your ticket number is. Best, Steve
Hello there! This startup error has surprised me... I never get something like that. Though here's a potential troublemaker: What antivirus do you use? I know avast is quite trigger-happy on TSW and TSxx and loves to delete crucial files on startup. Try to whitelist TSW on your antivirus and see if it helps. Otherwise, I have no clue what the hell could've caused it. Good luck, ProfCreeptonius
Hi, Just to let you know (and anyone else who might have this issue) is that I got it working by manually instigating another windows update (which I presume would have updated at the next scheduled time). TSW now works. It's misleading in that after the windows update last night, there was no indication that another update was waiting in the wings, but this is a microsoft thing. Thanks, I'll update/close the ticket. . Rob.
