I wonder. How would you guys think if DTG or Rivet Games made the Class 484 (D-Train) and made it an add-on for the Island Line?

It would be cool but... There is a big but... The Island line is having extensive works done to it so the 484 can run on it and to improve service frequency. These include a reinstating the 2nd platform at Brading and adjusting the platform heights to suit these new trains. So, unless DTG or any of the 3rd parties feel like creating another Island line with these upgrades implemented, I can't see this happening. However, the Marston Vale line would be a good idea as it means we can run its brother, even though its is a battery EMU/Diesel, but it means we can still have some class 48x action!

Edit: Here is a link to the SWR website which tells you about what is happening https://www.southwesternrailway.com/destinations-and-offers/island-line/island-line-upgrade

It would be about 25 years out of place...

I thought the Isle of Wight route was modern?

    It's set in the 90s.

I understood it to be modern but with the use of NSE livery because of licensing issues.

Yes, Rivet took sources of the IoW from 2019 when they did a survey. But due to licensing issues, they had to do the NSE livery. But the yellow, red, grey livery is dead simple.

    No, it’s set 2011+.
    Because:
[Route Add-On] GCC-R7 03 - Isle of Wight (Developed by Rivet Games)
    That R7 means it’s set 2011+

    The cars definitely seem modern.

This seems like the weird time inconsistencies that were present for a lot of earlier Train Simulator route. The route does indeed seem to be based on a modern version. However, the use of NSE suggests that it is 'set' in the 90s, which I find odd, as in 2011 the trains were in LT red, which crucially had no branding. Unless the colour red requires licensing, this seems like a choice Rivet made on purpose.
