I'm not talking about a Sifa/PZB involuntary stop, but a hit-the-big-red-button emergency braking.

I tried this, just for fun, but I could not get the engine going again- specifically, the brake system would not recharge. The BP remained stubbornly at 0. Meanwhile, the MR would slowly lose pressure, until the compressor kicked in and topped it off, just to start going down again. I expect this is what Americans would call an open PCS valve, but I cannot find any way to close it and recharge the brakes. I even tried a full loco shutdown and restart: no dice.

Have you popped up the red emergency button after you pressed it? Because it needs to be released again ;)

I believe that TRAXX locomotives lower the pantograph after applying emergency brakes. Remember to raise the panto and close the MCB after releasing the big red button.

I can only echo what my fellow forum members said. Be sure to check that the big red button is released again, check that the pantograph is up and the the MCB in, it may be necessary to put the train brake into emergency and then release to recharge the brake pipe so check that as well.

    Red button: un-popped
    Panto: raised
    MCB: reset

    Nothing.

Brakes into Emergency: Hmmmm. Only had them in full service.

Okay, I gave it a try and have no issues. I accelerated up to 50, then pushed the emergency stop. After the loco stopped completely, I put the throttle on 0, the brake on 1B, and release the emergency stop button. My brakes immediately charge up again. I wait like 5 seconds, put the panto back up, MCB on, release brakes and can accelerate without problems.
