Hi all, i was thinking about my local line and i thought why not suggest it to Dovetail for TSW 2, so i have put the route into 3 sectors, Route Description The Cross City Line is a busy commuter line in the West Midlands which stretches from Redditch and Bromsgrove to the South to Lichfield Trent Valley to the North, running for 32 miles end-to-end. Birmingham New Street is right in the middle of this line and provides fantastic opportunities for future extensions in every direction! Locomotives, Class 323 Class 170/6 Class 196 Class 730 Route, The routes run from Litchfield Trent Valley to Redditch with a branch off to Bromsgrove at Barnt Green (but the main route is Litchfield to redditch via B'ham New Street) its a very special route as it has the class 323 and its exculsive to west mids (which is this route)and the manchester region. More info on the Cross-City Line
I work this route as a senior conductor and would love to see this route. Good mix of traffic particularly on the X City south between Bromsgrove and Kings Norton (frieght up the Lickey ) and Birmingham for 170s and 22x/HSTs as well as the 323's/730's when they come. 1 Hr 20 end to end Lichfield - Redditch, 1 Hr 10 Lichfield - Bromsgrove. 90MPH is possible between Bromsgrove and Longbridge if not stopping at Barnt Green, Nice steady 60mph stretch between Lichfield City and Blake Street (small 50mph going over a bridge) and country branch feel between Barnt Green and Redditch. Maybe include a 2 mile stretch of the WCML towards Wolverhampton to include Soho Depot, a quarter of which is in a tunnel
Gets my vote, Midlands isn't represented in TSW and only recently in TS classic. And the iconic 323! Now that would be nice to see in its TSW glory. More detailed info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-City_Line And as an addition I would like to see the Snow Hill lines too, Snow Hill to Worcester with some 172 dmu action or some 150 2's!
Lol. Yeah they’re in video format for convenience. I, myself, tend to watch videos to learn about something, rather than read about it, so I thought, why not make suggestions in video format. Anyways though, this is getting a bit off topic.
i agree, this gets my vote as it is a local route and as the 323s are being replaced soon, they should be remembered in one way or another. without them, rail transport in the west midlands just wouldnt be the same.
I agree, they should go off with a bang! By dtg simulating the route with the 170 and 323 they would be celebrating their lives- also noteworthy the 323’s revolutionised the line
Recently went to Worcester and thought, why not try to get to new street to go one the 323's because it could be the last time (Because of Covid)
Would be great to have a 323, plus it seems like DTG can be trusted to make it to a high standard, considering how well they made the 465.
They would have to get the traction motors of the class 323 pretty much spot on as they are so unique. I think the Cross city line would be amazing to have in TSW2 because you could get some varied traction, they run diesels towards Worcester offering a differing experience and regional services.
A bunch of Cross City related cheevos have appeared on Steam DB for TS Classic - putting 2+2 together it looks like it might be hitting TS Classic in the near future.
Yep, will be interesting to see what happens with it. Seems like it might be a big release for March Madness possibly, seeing as they haven't released the timings like Festival of Rail yet, possible cover British route for TS2022?
Cross City is confirmed for TS Classic. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...kGJXRhcrBHmXigYIN9Okg8lk5GQe2oevpNby6eM8Owxtk I'm guessing the LM is because Abellio don't do licencing.
I'm on Xbox & PC But haven't got TS2021 To be honest tho, i'd prefer it in a better resolution like in TSW Mind, but we cannot have everything, but it might make it alot easier for the devs to replicate some parts of the routes
Agree. I just don't see me buying this for TS20xx, TBH. Far better in TSW2 with Timetable Mode (once DTG fix the save game glitching ) than the old game.
My gosh DTG the sounds on the 323 are terrible, whats with the pauses in sounds as you accelerate and decelerate? Have your audio engineers actually listened to the sounds that Duncan provided? Sounds like they did a machete job on them! And the power controller in the off position takes power!? Seriously?
Yeah, the new class 323 sounds are terrible, although they clamed to be recorded from the real thing. Then there is the classic TS run sounds which are used on almost every DTG train which overruns the traction motor noise, which is less audible. IF this comes to TSW2 then DTG will need to upgrade those traction sounds.
After a while, i thought about it i know a lot of people are saying that Abellio doesn't do Branding, but if they do Cathcart Circle, in abellio scotrail because they have clearly said that it isn't First Scotrail, its Modern-day Scotrail [Abellio Scotrail], so WMR Branding could come instead of LM
The branding for Scotrail is owned by the Scottish Government - so they can leave off the "Operated by Abellio" from the doors so they don't need to worry too much
It was also said on the Roadmap stream (23rd Feb) that it would be 'Scotrail Blue' but not Abellio Scotrail and it is set post-2011. I know First Scotrail used the Saltire livery, just like Abellio, the only difference is one says First and the other Abellio
This post is about the X-city line in Birmingham [Brum], not glasgow, and i was using GCC as an example, and Abellio own the licensing on Trains, not the livery design [That's owned by the Scottish Government]
Going to be an excellent idea because Dovetail Games made the route for train simulator 21 which is only restricted to PC. If ported to TSW from TS21 console players can experience the latest ts21 route on consoles like PS4,PS5 Xbox Series x/s and Xbox One
Love to see those on the line too. But all have been scrapped. Unless there's old blueprints for the engines lying about somewhere
110% support this as the class 170 train awesome also be nice to see Midlands routes finally in a train sim world game
