Looking great! They actually used a different gravel texture this time, it must be a special occasion :o. I really like the steel bridges and coal tipples and the general trackside scenery is nice. But the forests again have large gaps in them and have 0 bushes on their edges, which looks pretty bad and should definitely be improved on.

I’m very excited to see some mixed lash ups with the F-units and SD40s!

Agreed it does look amazing and looking forward to it's release. As it is still a work in progress up til release I am sure they will fix those gaps in the forests.

Things that the screenshots confirmed are:
    • A-A and A-B-B-A consists of F7s
    • Mixed consists of F7s and SD40s
    • SD40 apparently only in black and yellow livery (none in grey and yellow shown at least)
    • F7 apparently only in grey and yellow livery (none in black and yellow shown at least)
    • 3-bay coal hoppers are included
    • boxcars are included
    Did I miss anything?

Nah they won't, this is how they build every route. But it still looks very scenic and much better than SEH or ARL so I'm happy.
I just wish we also got the black livery for the F7, some variation wouldn't hurt. Liveries aren't that much more work and they add a lot to a route.

It looks very picturesque. Wondering what new features will be in this route that haven't been seen before. Also hoping for lots of different consist options as there seems be be any number of locos pulling these trains!

Also hope you are ok Nat :)

Looking like not only a 3-bay hopper included. But one screenshot shows a mix of both 3-bay and 4-bay coal hoppers.

Really the only con I'm seeing in the screenshots are the F7s are only gonna be in the Grey and Yellow scheme while the SD40 will be in the Black and Yellow scheme. Outside of that the route looks really good.

If I had to complain of anything in the screenshots it's that the autumn colors on the trees look like they've been bleached, I think they need to be a bit more vibrant. With that said in Spring/Summer it looks pretty darn good, looks right and I'd say it compares very favorably to Sand Patch and the OG TS Classic route. The weathering on the F7 looks good, and while a bit harder to spot with the black paint scheme it's solid on the SD40 as well, you can tell the units have been working a while. So while not as extreme as in the real photos I still think it does the job nicely, certainly anyone the likes the weathering on NTP will like this. The units seem to only have one livery each, which is a bit disappointing considering one of the strong aspects of TS Classic version was all engines having two liveries. But considering DTG only tended to do one livery per engine in the past I'm not very surprised, and regardless what is present they did do a very good job making.

There is something wrong with those trees? also return of the plain repeat ground texture. Apart from that as usual the locos look pretty neat.

The F7 in particular looks nice! Hopefully this is a precursor to some U.S. passenger routes of a similar era :)

Overall nice screenshots. I like the colour palette and the gritty old look. The one screenshot with the F7 on the bridge is amazing - if you are not looking at the patches to the left, such repeating ground textures are a chore to look at. Hopefully they will go and brush over places like that before release.
From what one can see though it seems there is alot of gameplay value in this route, so while not a release buy for me, I will certainly keep it in mind for a nice sale.

I noticed that the handrail of the SD40 is partly incorrect, I submitted a picture. Of alle four corners the railing is incorrect.

It really looks good, I can't wait!

Regarding textures: that's what happens when you keep postponing essential optimization work to focus only at DLC's.
I'm not sure how consoles will handle 5 locomotives with probably 50+ wagons

    So :

DTG here are my words seeing the screens ...

WHOO, HIHA, WAAAAAA, I want it, I want it, I want it.
DTG you take all my money now, NOW RIGHT NOW, ALL RIGHT AWAY ...

It looks really beautiful, I spent a lot of time on the Sand Patch for 3 years already (tws 1), on the livery editor also to create Canadian locos and wagons and Clinchfield but the, I feel that I will spend my life on this road.

If it sucks we say it but if it is good it must also be said and I have the impression that it will be splendid and grandiose.

The screens are superb and give a lot of envy, mash I can't wait.

Thank you, thank you very much DTG

Yes, that’s exactly what it looks like. Sarcasm aside, I like what I’m seeing of this route. I’m not familiar at all with this era of US railroads but it looks like driving those old trains is going to be a good challenge and the scenery to drive them in is looking great. Can’t wait to see a preview stream of this.

I wonder what kind of radio equipment this is?
I really wish there’s some functionality and hope radio chatter is implemented as well.

Besides from that the F7 cab in particular, looks absolutely stunning.
I’m so HYPED for the release and upcoming preview stream!! :D

They confirmed the SD40 will only come in the black and yellow livery, and I don’t think the F7s ever wore the black livery, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Also did anyone catch that the SD40 is gonna have those controls with the lever to switch between throttle and dynamic brakes?

It doesn’t have a designated dynamic brake handle.

It should have a selector handle, which allows the engineer to switch between power and dynamic brakes, while using the power handle to control whatever is selected. I know Reppos GP20 and DTMs GP35 had this feature on ts21. And I think it was a feature on all EMD locomotives untill the Dash 2 upgrades.

Having played the TS202X version from the beginning, I knew the scenery would be stunning. I was most interested in the F7 cab and it looks very satisfying, plenty of functionality by the looks of it. Do we know anything about the B unit? (didn't read whole article yet). This was always going to be an immediate purchase for me, but I'm still excited for the preview stream (s).

    That’s not very nice.
I’d say these might be some of the best preview screen shots I’ve seen for TSW2. Even if your not a fan of USA railroads it would be hard to say that this route doesn’t look fantastic, with the locomotives and the branch lines this is looking to be a fun experience for anyone. Very much awaiting a release date announcement soon.

    What's going on here?
I've already noticed this weird effect on TSW2 but regardless motion blur on or off they still occur, motion blur just makes it worse

The one thing I would point out as a possible problem is how "new" the tracks look.
This is a rather old coal-hauling railroad and the tracks look better than most of the mainline nowadays. It is not something that would make me not want the route, but it makes me wonder if they even CAN make old uneven muddy tracks.

It's worth pointing out that the Clinchfield was remarkable for being a very well engineered railroad and, apart from brief periods in its history, has been well maintained, and is to this day.

Yeah wanted to say that as well...
If you didn't notice before, that person is pure negativity and will downplay anything shown if it is not german content or was built after/around the year 2000. I would not even bother about anything that person posts.

    Overall, this looks great!

About the dynamic brakes: I'm no expert, but as far as I'm aware there can be pretty big differences between each railroad's variants of a locomotive. Maybe the Clinchfield SD40 were like that? Would be great if someone in the know could confirm or deny.

This might be nitpicking, but the excavator in the last is at least 20 years too young. Pretty shoddy asset usage so close to the track, as distant scenery this would be okay, but not like this. I'm hoping unnecessary glaring anachronisms like this don't make it into the final release. And yes, the fall leave colors are way too washed out and should be a lot more vibrant. Other than that, looking forward a lot!

So used to seeing the F7s in yellow and gray that I hardly could ever imagine I’ve been looking at one in black the entire time:D

Now hopefully, this time, in DTG’s second North American freight route (no, third) they can get the sounds right! They shall not reuse sounds this time, as locomotive audio pretty much makes or breaks the immersion for me and most players here. At least give us new horns!

I feel like there is more to be revealed as we get closer to release, we know what caboose is coming with the route, but we haven't seen it modeled in game yet. I also feel like the route will come with more rolling stock than the 2 coal hoppers and the 1 boxcar shown in this article.
