So out of curiosity, what is defined as track infrastructure? Is it things like tunnels and bridges? Or is it more on the line of roundhouse, coaling towers and signals?
Hi this is anything related to track for example points, signals, overhead gantries, lineside cabinets, things like that. Hope this helps.
Jamie, can "Green Signals" also incorporate semaphores, or is it to be taken literally, as ofr colour lights only?
I suppose signalbox counts as railway infrastructure Route: Welsh Marches: Newport - Shrewsbury Loco: BR Class 175
Old fashioned semaphore signalling and speed sign outside of Darlington station. Route: Weardale and Teesdale Network Locos: A4 and Thompson B1
Engineering works just outside of Wimbledon on a wet Sunday. Route: Portsmouth Direct Line: London to Portsmouth Loco: Class 66
I don't know if bridges count as track infastructure but here's my shot: A RhB Ge 4/4 III with Glacier Express coaches crosses the Landwasser viaduct on the Albula Line.

Class 66, WCML Trent Valley route. Over to the left is the 1GW Rugeley B power station. Providing the power for the railway you could say it is the ultimate track infrastructure!
************************ DO NOT INCLUDE IN COMP ********************** Just realised an AP Enhancement had crept in. Thanks TimeSlicedDanny for bringing it to my attention. Class 87 & Class 86 and a load of snaking track at Glagow Central on the WCML North route
Sherman Hill, a GP35 leads two DD35s and another Geep on a mid-morning westbound trip from Cheyenne to Granite while another GP35 brings a set of inbound empty intermodals.
How did you get the track to not have the very dark ballast up the middle, which is typical of this route?
Amtrak #11, the Southbound Coast Starlight, makes its way past the Santa Clara Station on a foggy bay area morning, as a Caltrain local train departs the station. Route: Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco to Gilroy Locomotives: GE P42DC, EMD F40PH-2CAT
I would imagine it is just the very low angle of the shot, I have had a quick check and if you look down on the track from higher up it does appear to have a darker line down the middle. I also have Ambient Light Intensity up quite high which does lighten the scene quite a bit.
Train 44A departs Kitauchi station during its morning run, the station's unique design was to avoid starting steam trains on a grade, in 2007, the station was rebuilt and the old platforms and reverse siding was abandoned. Route: Wakayama & Sakurai Lines Locomotive: KiHa 103 Series EMU
Classic traction through Birmingham New Street, passing the one-off Power signal box. WCMLS route, HST set heading south.
AC stabling sidings in front of Birmingham New Street PSB. Classic Birmingham infrastructure. WCMLS Class 86/87 and HST set.
The approach to Glasgow Central Station on a dour day. WCML North with IC125 and Class 86 just about discernable.
I see what you mean with your comparison shots, the colouring & texture of the whole image is completely different. I just loaded the AC from GC scenario & went for it, I shall have to delve further. I do have everything maxed out in the graphics settings if that makes a difference? EDIT: Sorry my bad, just realised the AP track enhancement I used to use although unticked in the editor still shows up on the route. I never spotted it till you pointed it out. Thanks for the heads up.. I will edit my post accordingly.
