Enjoy your extended Easter weekend by driving specials on your favourite routes for a chance to win!

Over the next few days, submit screenshots of a Train Simulator ‘Easter Railtour’ to the Dovetail Live Forums, and whoever has the most likes will win an add-on of their choice!

What do we mean by ‘Easter Railtour’? Anything set in the Spring that involves something unusual, be that an iconic preserved steam locomotive on the main line, or a diesel gala on a heritage railway – it’s a great way to get something different out on familiar tracks, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Check out the rules in our Article

Class 52 locomotive D1015 "Western Champion" heads the final leg of 1Z16, the (fictional) annual Easter railtour service from Dover to Liverpool, seen near Irlam. She hauls a rake of preserved Mk2F coaches in a variety of liveries, with WCRC locomotive 47 826 supplying ETH to the coaches.

    OK, here's my entry:

    20180329202315_1.jpg

I once saw a picture in a magazine of the two A4 Pacific's "Union of South Africa" & "Sir Nigel Gresley" travelling along the main line with their Support Coaches in tow. Could you imagine what the two would be like on a railtour together? Well, here they are in TS on a tour to London passing Didcot Railway Centre.

GWR 6000 works the "Easter Rose Express". If my watermark counts as editing it, I can happily supply the same shot without the watermark and headboard portions.

If the NRM had decided to put the 'Duchess of Hamilton' back into service while they were restreamlining her. This easter special reenactment of the 'Coronation Scot' crawling into Carlisle would have been a wonderful possibility.

    Hi,
I've already uploaded a few screenshots previously, and when I try to upload a new one,
it says I have reached my limit; I can't upload more media!
Should I just delete those so that I have more space? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D
    Thanks!

The Class 67 Diamond Jubilee has broken down, so this has been sent as a replacement, coming out of Brighton just now.
The Queen is currently waiting for it at Gatwick Airport, but doesn't yet know about the replacement. I'm sure Her Majesty won't mind...?

Two shots of the NSE Class 166 Turbo Networker on my fictional East Undon Network route.

The Class 485 on the London to Brighton route. Nice sparks, don't you think?

A custom-made 4-car consist of the Class 450 from the London to Brighton route, I took for a drive on the Riviera Line Electrified.
I'm sure everyone in Dawlish who sees this swooshing past will be baffled beyond belief! Mainly because firstly, there's no 3rd rail to be seen anywhere (and also no overhead wires), and secondly because Class 450s never ran on the Riviera Line.

What if the Highflyer had also been preserved? Well now you can find out, by looking at these shots of the Warship!
These were both taken in Dawlish Warren.

    Hope you enjoyed the screenshots!

SWT did operate along the Riviera Line until the December 2009 TT change, to Paignton, Plymouth and Penzance.

And a screenshot, 73201 'Broadlands' making it's way out of London Victoria on the way to Swanage with the LT Red 4TC.

Spring, while a lot warmer than the previous season, still means much less daylight to work with, much to the chagrin of the railfans watching at San Francisco as Union Pacific E8 #942 pulls an Officer's Special train. After a long day of delays and equipment problems, the train finally got underway at 6:00PM, meaning just a small amount of sun left for anyone watching!

Stunning shot! DTG really need to update their Riviera line, though. Just look at these houses IRL, and that meadow with a texture scaled really small. And the stairs are missing in TS just at the end of that paved path there. I know there are stairs there, as I've walked up those very stairs. And they need to replace the greenhouses in Paignton with the Parkfield building, and they also need to fix the problem with the barriers in Paignton, where two of them are always down, and there are metal girders (if they're called that?) hanging from the barriers IRL.

Ah. Okay, good to know, then disregard my previous screenshot-post, this is my screenshot for the competition:
This is set tomorrow (Easter), and this is the fictional story behind the screenshot:

I always wake up at 5:00AM, and every 3rd day, I treat myself to some ice cream. So, this was one of those days. I got up, walked across the road, under the overpass, and went up to the ice cream stall. I had purchased the ice cream, and I was just about to lick it, when I heard an engine sound from behind me. A Maybach engine sound. I turned around, and saw D817 Foxhound, heading straight for me. I always have my camera round my neck, so when I see something spectacular like this diesel, I can always photograph it. So I did. I quickly switched it on, focused the camera on Foxhound, and pressed down on that button. This is the result. <crowd applaudes> Thank you very much.

Hope you like it, and the little story behind it! :D

I was visiting a friend's family who live up north near Glenfinnan and while I was up there, I went with his family for a walk in the hills and caught glimpse of some steam in the air and when I got to the top of the hill and got my camera out I saw Class 5MT 'Black 5' 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier' crossing over Glenfinnan Viaduct with an afternoon Easter Special Jacobite service, that was on its way to Mallaig from Fort William.

Below: Durning the early 50's the Great Western Railway, now operating under British Rail, began a trial extension of one of its premier services 'The Bristolian'. The express which used to terminate at Bristol Temple Meeds now runs back north through Filton Junction and over the Severn; then continuing past Newport and Cardiff before switching to the branch line at Bromsgate Junction. The express now terminated at the small town of Temsby Port every other Sunday morning, allowing for passengers to enjoy the seaside before the return journey that afternoon. Here we see 5029 Nunny Castle waiting to leave platorm 3 for the return journey to London. 20180331131411_1.jpg
