That's 1500 CDT, 1600 EDT, 1300 PDT. It's always a bit confusing this time of year because the US "springs forward" 2 weeks before the UK.

I hope that tonight for the Clinchfield presentation we will have at least a very smooth live.
I expect this road a lot more than the Arosa and I will be ruthless with DTG.
I love the USA too much to let "LOVE" pass, especially on a historic road like this.
    As the Americans would say:
I want value for my money, and I want top made in the USA.

I am thoroughly enjoying this route's TS version and looking forward to revisiting it in TSW.

Watch it on YouTube- Arosa stream was silky smooth for me yesterday on it.

Always watch a minute behind as well if I were you.

It just passed thru Tehachapi and over the Loop a few minutes ago via the live stream, its heading to Portland Oregon, unless you confused it for 1995, which is still OOS in Texas.

Holy smoke- unless it releases full of bugs, this may be the best TSW route yet! Looks gorgeous, scenery and rocks are just right for a part of the Appalachians I know fairly well, loco models are beautiful, Nathan horn! (but not loud enough, US horns rupture eardrums), habitable caboose is a plus, fully animated reefer door mechanism, and I love what they've done with the timetable.

Now, if they just patch in the new horn for the SD40.

(Oh, and that high-nose GP7 DLC......)

I agree the horn outside the and from inside with the windows open is simply not loud enough, it needs to be dialed up a couple of notches.

I wouldn’t count on the horn being fixed. They’ve said they were doing this for Sand Patch grade back when the Dash 8 was released, but we still have that weird placeholder. That being said hopefully they prove me wrong.

I watched the “stream” today and I am honestly amazed by what they’ve achieved. My only gripes would be the lighting, which looks very warm and has too much contrast, as well as not being able to access engine rooms. Also the horns are way too quiet. A GP7 is something I’d definitely buy since a high nose loco would be very unique and something I haven’t seen before.

I'm quite happy with what I've seen on the stream/video. Both the scenery and service mode look amazing so far. Unique services offering multiple hour long sessions sound pretty fun.

Perhaps the worst are the sounds, which are just ok, not great but also not bad.

The stream was very nice. Sure the horns could be better. But the scenary looks very nice. The engine noises are good. And we will get 5 cars. 2 different coal hoppers, 1 box car, 1 refrigerator car and a wonderful caboose. Can't wait to do mainline coal or a manifest services or loading coal or doing switching services in the 4 branches. And after the Diesel Legends dlc I hope so much that we will get a CSX Kingsport dlc for CRR.

I am quite impressed by the scenery and services that Clinchfield will be providing. And I am all in on this route!

I like the new horn on the F7 and look forward to the RS3L for the SD-40. However, one comment on the horns: Yes, they do need to be louder, but what they really need is resonance. The sound should ring through the narrow valleys. Something like this:

The echo makes you feel the horn and that is the signature of North American freight.

Now THAT is the kind of sound TSW needs. Why can the TS side of the house do it but not TSW (or was that all mods?)

That was a mod, I believe.
Interestingly, resonance and reverberation are already in the game. The best example I can think of is the LGV horn. It’s even on SPG and the default horn. Next time you drive SPG, use the 8 camera and get under a bridge; the horn will sound much better, almost “paint peeling” even! Making the under a bridge sound the full time sound would be a great improvement IMHO.

FINALLY a good sounding horn, the best one since Peninsula Corridor! Hopefully the release goes smooth with minimal bugs in release build. This is probably going in the hall of fame for the best routes ever released for TSW. Now, if someone can give DTG that RS3L horn mod for the SD40...

A CSX pack might well be an SD40-2 and a C30-7 for the early 80's.

Perhaps an ET44 or an ES44 would be in it too . But to be honest a SD70MAC would be really good.

Yes! I love driving the ICE from a #3 camera just outside the driver’s window; the horn, the traction sounds, and the brake sounds are fantastic!

If you sound your horn in a station with a big overall roof like Paddington or Köln you get a marvellous reverb sound which turns even the awful talent 2 horns into a beautiful sound. Even the worst synthesised horns blend in and out realistically.
I don’t know what they do to achieve this effect but if they could apply that to locomotive horns all the time, maybe to a lesser extent, I think it would go along way to improving the sound of all horns.

I think the headlight range doesn't shine very far, I know it doesn't matter since you can't stop in short distances. American trains have bright lights that shine very far compared to the British trains.

Matt explained the issue they have with headlight. If you look at Penisula corridor, driving from San Fransico you see can cars during daytime with headlights on, this is really bad. Maybe they can make it a setting, so we can set headlights depending on time of day, or increase them in tunnels. Not a perfect solution, but it might help and should not be very hard to implement.

Great! Now the downers are complaining about realistic depictions of nature. Excuses, excuses!! Believe it or not, there were (and probably still are) trees in them thar' (sic) mountains.

Daylight running lights are perfectly normal, at least in the US, depending on the weather and light level. Sometimes it's the law, especially if you're using wipers. It's also automatic in many vehicles.

According to the route preview, they said they’re aware of this but haven’t found a way to fix it yet. It would probably be part of a larger core update if it comes.

So, been playing the TS21 version of Clinchfield and one thing I'm still wondering about the TSW2 version is if that unmarked 15mph speed limit restriction is still on the mainline at Haysi Junction. I'm not sure if that was a real restriction (Based on HIS CSX scenarios) or just an oversight in the routes development.

Watched the Clinchfield preview stream finally and really it just shows that the DTG that created Sandpatch is still the same DTG today....But the DTG today also has had years of learning with creating content but also taking in the good and bad criticism along the way. From 2016, when Sandpatch was released to the public to now in 2021. Every hour of route building, and every post of feedback from the community is seeming to be shown in this route. Not just an A/B route but just as much track in branch lines as there are on the main line, this is as complete of a route we have received in terms of being a living, working, complete railroad. They have finally nailed the perfect route and scenery for a TSW route and this is by far the best scenery I have seen in this game in terms of quality. The locomotives look and act just like the real locomotives and are very detailed. We are receiving multiple new wagons that fit the route and time period perfectly, we are receiving a caboose, fully functional, with working handbrake and seats in the perfect spot. Every single service was created and aren’t copy and paste timetables. They even changed the automobile traffic to match the time period. The year of Clinchfield. Fantastic, you represent USA freight and all of TSW2 very well with this add on. Keep up this quality work!

I found a stack of 1950s Trains magazines I had purchased a while ago. What year did the F7 make its debut?
