So with Rivet Games already releasing 2 routes for TSW2, and Cane Creek still listed in development, does anyone else think that Skyhook Games is taking their time with the route to have a better end product for consumers?

The route itself is only 35ish miles of single track branch line, with at most 2 different trains a week on the line (The Potash Local and the Uranium Tailing trains) the area is is pretty arid, with very little vegetation, but nice spectacular rock formations as well as canyons carved by the Colorado River, the only major city anywhere near the route is Moab, Utah. The locos are all similar models that are already in game with Sand Patch Grade, with only some minor modifications needing to be made to be prototypical for a Union Pacific unit (IE The trucks on the AC4400CW). Skyhook games have also already developed some US rolling stock for the original TSW as well.

So is the reason we haven seen anything from Skyhook on Cane Creek is that they want to make the route good enough for TSW2, even though it would, at least on paper, be a pretty simple route to make in theory? Or does Skyhook need more time to figure out the route building tools for TSW2?

I would think with this being a totally new environment for TSW2 they are having to take more time creating new scenery assets for this route factor in that this will be their first route, and could possibly be their first dlc unless they release the locomotive they are also working on first. I would imagine DTG plan their release schedule well in advance that’s it’s possible DTG have given them the extra time to make sure this route reaches expectations for TSW2. Either way I’m always interested in hearing about USA content!

I would like to think that this route is progressing, but since it's announcement we have not seen anything from Skyhook or DTG on the route. Slow and steady doesn't always mean good news, but I am hoping that we will see something soon from Skyhook.

Well, put it this way. It's been over 7 months since it was announced from the very first roadmap (when it was In Planning stage). And from this week's roadmap stream, Protagonist did say Cane Creek is neck and neck with Cathcart Circle on the list (in the order of the next route that's coming soon) after Hamburg-Lubeck. So, we may get some progress or announcements from Skyhook or Dovetail. But it might gonna be a little longer, depending on what's on the next roadmap (or 2) of course.

Where did you find this information? I have not yet seen anything of this route.

I mean, Skyhook only has two employees, or a very small number of employees. TSG's BR232 won't come until 2022, what's the problem? Why so impatient? Skyhook has announced a lot, for a small company it just takes time ...

    I don't see a problem

Take your time and don't be so impatient!

General information on the internet, the branch line is a well known route in the Railfanning community.

Hope they don’t encounter the same rock texture problems that Rivet did.
Imagine the green hills of Cane Creek...

At least it is nice to know that there is progress being made on the route. Hopefully we see some info in the next 1-2 months.

That's fine not every company that develops routes can be as large in employees as DTG or Rivet, and it's not that we're being impatient over the route. The route was announced since the first roadmap and there has been nothing about it since then. And other routes that were added to the roadmap around the same time are done. One of which is to be released today, and the other is probably coming out in about a week.

This curiosity is a good sign. It would be worse if we showed no interest :)

Has that been mentioned somewhere? I have no problem with it, better late than rushed, just curious.

Well, back in December, it was neck and neck with CRR, and that should be out in the next couple weeks.

Likely to be a combination of both. It is intriguing though. Is it just a straight 90 minute run down the line from Brendel to Potash? Or will they model some other activity, like loading and unloading the tailings via that one branch/spur? The only rolling stock seems to be some covered hoppers and the somewhat mysterious tankers. And, as you say, just the two trains. So, it seems the less we know, the more fascinating it becomes.

    ehhh, results may vary. *shrug*
Now that, I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet:

Since it may relate to their new IP there working on.

It would be great if the postponement can make a longer route. I hope they can add a little trunk line before and after, so that the entire route can be made up to 60 miles.

Theres nothing at the end of the line, the Potash mine is the only thing at the end. At most we can hope they add the mainline to the route.

Yes, Skyhook's new game is a Lawn Mower Simulator (little disappointing tbh). But they remade their site with an interesting image on one of their pages:
    Capture.PNG
Guess it is neck and neck with Cathcart Circle at the moment.

Holy... Damn, now THAT is beautiful scenery! The only thing I don't like is how the trackbed meets the terrain. The tracks could probably be sunked a bit more into the terrain so they stick out less, and the track ballast textures could match better with the ground ballast texutres around it.

But other than that, god damn. Sorry, but after this, Rivet has no excuses.
