Another sale on Fanatical. Both TS and TSW stuff. 11 hours left. link to TS stuff link to TSW stuff edit: TS link is apperently broken or not filtered properly. Sorry about that but I can't fix it.
Rush to get the Midland Mainline stuff! The extension packs are quite possibly the best UK routes I've driven in terms of the lineside modelling and general ambience. There are lots of custom assets, which really add to the sense of place.
Yes and No. This route is quite well made with a lot of detail and it is set in modern times. 20-30 years ago the line had many more junctions loops and sidings which are missing of the current version. It is correct for current time but operationally is sterile.
You mean apart from four major cities, a power station, one of the largest yards in the UK, the connecting end of a heritage railway, a climbing rural line and multiple routes between them all? And I haven't included the heritage roundhouse and traction depot at Barrow Hill as I don't have it.
Yes I do. Sheffield has not changed much over the years and is a good representation of the station and the same with Leicester Both Derby and Nottingham have been modernised and had their hearts ripped out Derby in particular has been totally rebuilt restricting what can be done with train moves This shows what the change to the track layout has done to the station The old layout enabled freight to bypass the station and also stop to change crew without disrupting the passenger services Now the freight passes thru the station The old layout has a good set of pointwork at the south end but that has gone And in the 1970s Derby was so much more interesting So yes, the JT route is correct for modern times and accurate but it could have been better if set 10 years earlier Peter
Looking at the streaming schedule for later this week, the March Madness sale will begin on Thursday.
Surely Next Steam sale scheduled for March 25th, I hope you are right. Maybe a DTG sale as there has been no weekly deals since the end of last month.
I normally use this bookmarked link as it gives everything on the one page including Marketplace items https://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Dovetail Games - Trains
Ahh, you've posted that link before, I meant to favourite it then but forgot, definitely doing so now. thanks.
I’ve been keeping an eye on this. Now just 25% off, but might be a while before any further discount. Worth the plunge or not? https://store.steampowered.com/app/...ern_Main_Line_London__Birmingham_Route_AddOn/
There's a lot of Just Trains routes I'm interested in atm but I'm becoming more inclined to buy them direct from JT now, just seems more likely to have fixes and patches released on their own site as DTG seem slow if not completely reluctant to push them through Steam (going by past discussions I've read anyway), of course if you're big into steam workshop scenarios then it may be a better option to buy the routes through Steam, not sure to be honest.
I didn't pick up on that, thanks for alerting me. It's £26 on JT or £6 cheaper on Steam, hmm. I only have one route bought from JT direct, the SECML, and I had issues with grass floating in the air at Dundee station, so have been a bit wary of buying from them again. How does JT notify you of patches, do they send you an email, or rely on you to check? The other thing is, the Steam version will go on both my computers, but JT only allows one installation.
JT have a sale over Easter. Normally good discounts too. My advice would be if you can wait take a note of the JT product in the Steam sale and if not cheaper in JT get it in the April steam sale. But do be aware you collect extra discounts in points for every product bought through JT that you can redeem against your next purchase or let them mount up to purchase something for nothing when you have accumulated enough points.
Train Simulator 2014 for only £3.87 (£4.04 inc VAT) Routes included are Hamburg-Hanover, London-Faversham and Donner Pass https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/325-buy-game-steam-train-simulator-2014/ Great British Railway Journeys + TS DLC Bundle for £9.99 Routes included are ECML: London-Peterborough, GEML: London-Ipswich, Portsmouth Direct Line, Settle-Carlisle and Chatham Main & Medway. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/13568/Great_British_Railway_Journeys__TS_DLC/ Well worth looking at if you need or want more than a couple of those routes.
Thanks for the links! Just wondering what you receive when purchasing ‘TS14' for example on instant-gaming, a DVD, Steam code, or file? Does it even work, since TS14 isn’t really offered on Steam anymore? Seems like too good of a deal too. Sorry, I’m just not too knowledgeable on this subject.
You get a Steam code. Although the main game engine has been updated to TS2021, you still get the route DLC's that were bundled with TS2014.
It is a good cheap way of getting some things People look out for TS2018 as that has the North Wales Coast - Crewe to Llandudno
Been pondering whether to get the Glasgow Airport Add-On... Is it worth me getting it??? I know its short & the reviews are mainly negative but I'm thinking about if it's worth it just for its assets... Eric
If you think you need the route then at a cheap price go for it It is a drive from the cab because there is not much beyond what you see If you purchased the 380 separately you only save just over a Pound
If you know the Paisley side of Glasgow it's not as bad as many reviews say, a lot of the scenery assets come in handy for freeware routes, the apartment and tenement blocks are widely used across other layouts. The airport buildings come in handy as well as the local factories and warehouses, quite a few bits of scenery are worth obtaining. The route is just OK, it's very short though, only about 10 miles or, so, and it's over 11 year's old so lots of Kuju 2D trees and suchlike, I swapped lots of vegetation out for newer stuff to enhance it a bit, you need to travel the length of it to take in what has been created, it's more for driving from the cab viewing than flying behind in helicopter view, I think it was Thomson's first route build in the game there wasn't much scenery placed either side of the tracks, like on a lot of other routes, and it had a few green roads, it was a bit of a guinea pig test which didn't go down well with a lot of fans initially, you just have to see it for yourself, really. It's a nice little route for testing other items of rolling stock on, it's electrified so it's ideal for all sorts of stuff, you can run empty coaching stock from Glasgow Central Station across to Glasgow Shields Electric Depot for example, which are both nicely created, nothing in the way of freight yards as such but you can run freight trains and parcels from station to station across the route, just the thing for Scottish Class 37s, and 47s from the 1980s, etc, I'd recommend you get the route for a few quid, and you can always ask for a refund if it isn't suitable. Cheerz. Steve.
Bought it.. thanks to everyone who replied... had a quick go but keep getting TPWS brake applications... Eric
TPWS Brake Demand happens when you are going above the Speed Limit on some sections of line. Was it TPWS and not the DVD (Vigilance Device)? Not sure if they make a similar sound
Definitely TPWS as the Brake Demand light comes on... Not having much experience of TPWS I think I may be approaching danger signals too fast trying to keep to time...
DTG appear to be continuing the March Madness sale in their own store. https://store.dovetailgames.com/uk/sale
Keep scrolling through, there's some TS stuff at the same prices they were on Steam. Although they don't have a discount banner attached, the prices are discounted.
There's quite a few EMU's and Electric loco's on sale, I'd only really use them to complete ai scenario requirements, any recommendations which are the most commonly used/required, (generally I mean)
If you run a number of Southern routes the BR Blue Diesel/Electric pack comes with two of them, 2-Epb and 4-Cig https://store.dovetailgames.com/uk/product/430958/br-blue-diesel-electric-pack-loco-add-on Not sure which electric locos you might run unless you are thinking German routes?
Great thanks, already got that pack so that's a plus. Sorry, regarding loco's I meant things like the 76 - 77 pack and also the 86 and the 87, already have the class 90 just wondered what else might be of good use. I've avoided buying electric stuff so far favouring diesel but with more and more routes having OHLE I'm starting to look towards that too especially with Danny's latest merge
I just picked up this for £3.59 instead of £11.99 on Steam: Network SouthEast Class 415 '4EPB' EMU Add-On Same with this: £2.99 instead of £11.99: BR Class 422 '4BIG' EMU Add-On £6.58 instead of £23.98. There's a good sale on many routes too: Woodhead, Faversham, and many more.
The Class 86 is worth getting as it is the stand alone version the AP Pack works with - still a good loco without The Class 76/77 pack is ok for the Woodhead route but not much else Units - the 4-Vep will set you back 59p, the 4-Big is £2.99 The 319 on its own is £2.99 but for £6.24 you also get the Midland Mainline St Pancras - Bedford route The 325 Postal Unit can work on the OH and 3rd rail - £3.59 (like the 319) If you don't have the 378 you can get it and the North London Line for £5.24 Class 91 for £.3.59 and the Class 92 for 2.99
