Hi all, this post is from a mates idea for a C2C route so i decided to give a bit more context into the route. The route today is from Southend Central to Fenchurch street, As usual i'm going to split this into 3 sectors. Route Description & Analysis As this route is the Only major route that the TOC C2C operates this could be in High backing from C2C But this route runs 4 TPH, it isn't really Complex running services from Southend but it is really necessary as we havent got any UK Overhead line content. Locomotives Class 357 Known for it's similarities with the Class 168, 170, 171 and 172/0's there the First model of the Electrostar Class 387 The design is similar to the Class 377/375, but its newer, as being built in 2016 Class 730 Built by Bombardier Transportation these are supposed to be Released in 2022 so might not be featured, but might be a DLC Conclusion This route would be perfect for TSW 2 as it would feel and add a London to the Suburbs route
I think c2c would be a interesting network to have in the sim. The class 730 looks like a nice train. Does C2C mean coast to Coast or something?
I have been wondering that since I saw the suggestion . It constantly reminds me of Customer 2 Customer sales and marketing.
https://www.c2c-online.co.uk/app/uploads/2019/05/c2c-route-map-may.pdf C2C operate three basic routes: 1 - Fenchurch Street - Grays via Dagenham dock 2 - Fenchurch Street - Southend via Upminster, Grays and Tilbury 3 - Fenchurch Street - Shoeburyness via Upminster, Basildon and Southend All three routes run to Barking, running adjacent to the LUL lines from about West Ham before the Dagenham line splits off with the mainline splitting again after Upminster The whole system is 72.5 miles including all three lines. In addition to the C2C and LUL lines there is a large freight scene with up to 70 freight services a day from London Gateway (near Tilbury), Barking Eurohub (Barking), Ripple Lane (also Barking), Dagenham (Ford and Docks), Purfleet Wharf (Purfleet) and Tilbury Docks Almost all freight goes off onto the GOBLIN North London Lines at Barking
It would be great if the whole thing could be done. I’m down with any part of the line being done to be honest.
There is an easy way of this route getting a Class 387 simply being layered from brighton main line or reskinned to the proper paint for the job
Your mentioning the Class 730, but the Picture shows the Class 720...i think you accidently mixed up the Class 720 with Class 730
Never operated on that route - with the exception of the Grays branch for a brief while - it went straight from steam to electric.
Like this suggestion. From what ive seen its a visually nice route running along the coast and i to the city. The C2C licence im sure would probably be difficult though
One of the best lines for varied scenery. It starts in the City of London, passes through Docklands, the East London suburbs and the Essex countryside before running right along the seafront between Leigh on Sea and Chalkwell. There are beached boats right by the track. It's also a nice railway, with comfortable trains and is generally reliable, which is not something you can say about most London commuter services.
