The bad...Just how many surprises will we find?

Do you have anything positive to say or do you always assume the worst? The route hasn't even seen the light of day and you're already trashing it.
Or maybe you're just trolling, in which case we should not prolong this thread.

This is one of the few routes that i have been truly excited about for alot of people the f7 and the caboose a will be really be great to finally have. But as we have seen many a technical issuse will be found and that no fun.If the routes great i'll be happy to say so but the best i can hope for is only that any issuse are minor.

Well, as you toned down your initial post and your second is a reasonable one, I say fair enough, let's wait and see.
By the way, being delayed by the occasional red light is something many of us would welcome, as it reflects the real railroad and is rather rare in TSW2.

Well if being stuck at redlights is what everybody wanted, then we should thank dtg because there no shortage of them.(I have never talked to a train engineer that enjoys alot of redlights)Maybe it's a railroader secret.

What do I have to say? Well unsurprisingly this...

The good - nothing yet it hasn’t been released
The bad - nothing yet it hasn’t been released
The ugly - nothing yet it hasn’t been released

The Good: The route looks fantastic, the locos are great, there is big changes between it and the TS21 version.

The bad: The F7 lacks the Black Scheme, the SD40 lacks the Grey Scheme.

    The Ugly: None atm.

The fact that the route contains multiple branches is a very welcome surprise as I was expecting the route to be an A to B

Yes, that is a standout feature of the TSW version. Apart from the Haysi branch, the TS edition, though very good, was pretty much a straight run from Elkhorn to St Paul.

    Revised
    The Good...F7 A/B's & Caboose.
The Bad...No Clue if we will ever see vintage US passenger cars for the f7 to pull.
The Ugly...With the way things have been going,i'm sure someone will complain if there aren't enough trees.

The fact that the route has multiple branches is truly a welcomed surprise and brings promise to future routes. The addition of branch lines being so extensive as seen on the upcoming route really makes this route stand apart.
As we edge closer to the release date, I can only wonder how Cane Creek is going. But that's a topic for when that gets released.

    As for me...
The Good - Not released yet (Although caboose, branches, F7, SD40 and the route itself looks amazing)
The Bad - Not released yet (N/A)
The Ugly - Not released yet (N/A)
    The Verdict - TBD (N/A)

Actually the most requested thing players wanted according to dtg's winter survey was random events. It gets quite boring and frankly unrealistic when every journey you do is green after green with nothing happening. I hope the random events they are adding to Clinchfield will come to the previous dlcs

I think I missed this. When did they say that Clinchfield will have random events? And of what nature are those events?

They said something about random things happening when you do a service on clinchfield. I am not sure what those things are since the route is not out yet

Is the random events with CRR not when you can sometimes get held up by red lights to allow other trains to pass on single tracks

Well since when has getting held up by redlights been a random event(provided there not a clear reason for being stopped). It's normally been a game bug that needs fixing. So now if we get held up by a redlight how will one know if it's a random event or a game bug. This is definitely not something to turn into a game feature.

Umm, look at the map to see if a train is occupying the line ahead?

That's exactly what I've always done when held up by a red light. On a single track road, it should happen if, for instance, you are late or too early for a meet, the dispatcher is programmed to prioritize another train or you're entering or leaving a branch off the main.

I think we can all agree, red signals have been a landmark part of railroads and railway safety for a long time, and having to stop at red signals in TSW2 seems like an important part of making it more diverse and immersive and random.

Redlights themselves aren't the problem,it's when the stay red when there nolonger any reason to be red.

Or even if you are exactly on time. On a single-track bidirectional line, some train is necessarily going to have to be pulled over on a siding at some point.

The good - all my west coast paint schemes look right at home.
The bad - all my west coast paint schemes look right at home
