A slightly off beat question. I did not notice that with TWS2020 that the PS4 got hot (Fan running a lot). I have noticed that now the cooling van is spinning a lot now with TSW2. I have bought a cooling stand with extra fans and moved the console out of where it as has lived for 3 years. Not that I suppose I run graphic intensive games much (Lego / Gran Turismo and old 8-16 bit remakes of classic stuff). I might see how hard it is to take the box apart and give it a good clean inside. Any help or ideas gratefully received . "Now where's the spray duster gone"
It's easy to remove the lid, loads of vids on youtube. My PS4 Pro used to sound like a jet engine when TSW was running, so I rebuilt the database and as my console was underneath the TV in an enclosed cabinet, I took the lid off, gave the insides a hoover, and then left it off, gave it the occasional swipe with a duster to get rid of any dust that had settled on it and it was quiet after that. Obviously if it's not in a cabinet it will attract more dust, also it's not a good look with the lid off, but my cabinet has smoked glass doors, so even the wife couldn't moan that it looked scruffy.
This is done by booting into Safe Mode on your PS4, and one of the options should be to rebuild the database. You can access Safe Mode by having the PS4 shutdown, then hold down on the power button until you hear two beeps. I believe you need to have the controller plugged into the PS4 while doing this.
I rebuilt the database, cleaned the interior, but it never seemed to help much in my case. What did help was purchasing a separate external fan and pointing it directly at my console, which still delivers a bit of noise pollution but nothing like what was coming out of my PS4 Pro. Not the most energy efficient option either.
