When I do not use dynamic lighting I have aylways 80+ with a very nice fluidity (just perfect), but the game is awful; It clearly lacks something. (even with shaders from RW Central)

With Dynamic lighting activated I loose fast half of my framerate. Yesterday I tried Frankfurt Ubahn addon and I've seen as minimal values 25-30 fps in the city. So it was unplayable.

Settings all full except FXAA, dynamic clouds off, Bloom off

I wouldn't call 25 - 30fps awful. That's perfectly playable. 80fps is just offering you no advantage in a sim game.
I'm not sure what your expectations are... post up a screen grab, let's see how awful it is.

If you think cinema uses 24 fps, and video uses about 30fps, 25-30fps isn't awful at at all.

If you don't notice it, and it doesn't distract from playing the game. then it doesn't really matter if it's 30fps or 100.

All sorted for realistic night time operations... it also has the proper horn audio.

I’m a big fan of using Nvidia Dynamic Super Resolution on TS.

I picked up a Train Simulator 2019 bundle on a whim a few weeks ago and enjoyed it thoroughly, so I purchased a few additions, a copy of TSW, then a few more additions to that, but I'm having bit of a problem in the amount of potential routes and addons as well as some nuance in tweaking the game Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin itself.

Is DSR supported for Train Simulator? When I scan for supported games in GeForce experience, TS never appears.

[edit] Ignore me... I thought you were on about DLSS for some reason.

Everything I work through is mostly new ground, aside from scripting. I never imagined that the cab controls would be such a pita to get sorted, but I reckon it's plain sailing from here on in. As it's my first full standalone release, I want to ensure that I put as much time and effort into it as possible before release. I'm no Armstrong Powerhouse, but I want to establish a high bar of quality right out of the gate.

I'm very grateful for your patience, as with everything, the best things take time.

At this point, no idea what's needed for a cold start option, but it would be nice to include it... before I started this project I had no idea how to even get a model into the TS engine - yet here we are.

The perfect combination of optimisation + teasers for new content in the covid era :D The thread evolved well.

At least there is a good patient crowd regarding the tamper, which looks really excellent btw.

They both deserve some love, as does a 104... there's an 84 sat just over the hill and lockdown is over.

    I bloody love building trains!

I hope I'm wrong I really do but why do I have a horrible feeling this is going to be hidden behind ATS's pay wall?

It'll be a paid for item, and I'll do my very best to keep prices as low as possible.

Hope you guys will love it as much as I do.

That is looking great will certainly be getting it.

A 104 would be great to see, such characterful units. An AL1-AL5 would be very useful for 70's/80's scenarios on the West Coast lines.

I did wonder as I know the class 104 is regularly mentioned in dispatches around here!

I don't think I will be rushing out to buy Aphrodites latest single, although I haven't rushed out to buy anyones single since Fantasy by Black Box in 1990!

Right, could you just clarify? A paid for item is fine, I know how much work goes into something like this and I'd never expect it to be freeware, however if it's hidden behind ATS's sub wall then I won't be getting it.
Wait.. What happened to the Class 47?

It will not be hidden behind a paywall - I have never hinted that it would be, I have only ever stated that it will be a paid for item.

The 47 isn't forgotten but I have this really sneaky feeling that someone will beat me to it.

It's all good buddy, just things to look forward to and nothing to dread, promise!

Latest single, as in from 1997, not far off Fantasy by Black Box!

I must be getting old, because I cannot relate to new music, _ever_.

I don't mind a bit of Aphrodite. Although I'm also a bit of a sucker for house and trance music, particularly from my late teens in the early 2000s :) Inspired me to learn a bit about synthesisers. Newer music sounds too minimalistic to me a lot of the time. It's designed for platforms that squash dynamic range, so feels pretty sparse when you listen to the MP3s. The remasters of Oasis' Be Here Now tracks from 2016 felt like they'd been absolutely gutted.

On topic: it was always going to take something a bit special to make night time scenarios enjoyable. Excited for that yellow peril, and if a 104 comes to fruition I'll be making use of any NSE skins of it, given they worked Goblin and I *think* some operated out of Paddington/Old Oak as well. But I might be talking nonsense.

Lol that shows just how much my finger is on the pulse of modern culture!

My music interest starts with 16th century polyphony reaches a peak at Howells and Finzi and ends around 1993!

Yes you are correct. There were sets at Bletchley in the 1980's used on the Goblin service plus I assume the Bedford to Bletchley, they were transferred to Reading (and I think some may have been based at Old Oak Common). They were used for the Goblin services until surplus class 117's were available and the centre carriage removed. They did also see use on the GWML. Set L408 in 1993 was made up of a class 101 DMBS, 117 TCL and 104 DMCL so hopefully it might be able to be recreated one day! They were quite likely used on the Clapham Junction to Kensington Olympia shuttle too.

I think Stratford had some alongside its class 105 units so would be useful (possibly) for the Richmond to North Woolwich service on the backdated NLL route.

Then or course they would be useful across the north of England and North Wales and on period Scottish routes.

That's ruddy bluddy useful info to have (thanks!), as I have Goblin, Bedford-Bletchley from UKTS, NLL and NLL backdated :D So a 104 would be a very versatile unit on my machine. I had memories of a picture of a 104 in toothpaste livery that I think was working out of Old Oak but it was from a relative's book so I couldn't make that claim with any authority. I would need to take a more in depth look at what they did around the North West and in Scotland as I know nowt about those operations.

I think the timelines overlapped sufficiently for us to have 101s, 104s (if developed), Bubblecars, IC & NSE Class 47s, HSTs and NSE 50s all working together in and out of Paddington. I don't have any records to hand but lots of pics exist from summer 89-summer 90 that show one or more of those in the area at once.

First generation DMU's have always been my main area of interest, sadly not paid enough attention to by hobbiest or enthusiasts at the time, considering they were the backbone of local and cross country services on unelectrified lines for 30 years and got BR out of hole when the new second generation units were proving less than reliable.

Yes all of those would have been seen in the Reading and Paddington area in the late 80's and early 90's plus the 117, it is a shame that DTG withdrew the class 117 in NSE from the market place. Maybe someone will reskin the WSR/NSR version at some point.

Old Oak did have a few units listed as being allocated there in the early 90's, Reading was the main depot. I think the or some 104's were based there as it would make sense for the NLL units to be there and not Reading plus presumably the Greenford line bubble cars.

They were everywhere in the North West. There was a dedicated modified fleet for Manchester Blackpool workings with modified bogies. These had a white stripe to identify them, and was all you'd see in the 70s and 80s if you were at Blackpool,. Preston, ro Manchester.

The Buxton line used them too until class 108's ousted them in the mid 1980's. Darlington had a fleet of them from new so a green one would be useful for the Weardale and Stainmore routes.

I think Chester (outside of NSE) might have been the last to have an allocation of them. I remember one appearing at a SVR diesel gala in 1990 or 1991 and it was withdrawn not that long afterwards. It still sounded healthy and I can still recall the rasping of the exhaust. The all blue livery really suited them in my opinion, more so than the green in fact.

My first memory of a train I can recall, when I was 3 years old, was a green DMU with "whiskers"... almost certainly a 104, as it was in the old Blackpool North before they demolished it.

I know of him but we/I have never sung any of his work.

To my shame I haven't sung or performed much work from Scottish composers apart from Robin Orr and the wonderful James Macmillan.

Good stuff, thanks for your reply. So there'd be plenty of work for them on the OTS Northern Lines - maybe a little on Missing Link.

I've noticed that the community seem to be responsible for a lot of the northern English content on TSxx. Still, it's largely of a high standard and it seems to be expanding rapidly, so long may it continue.

Pre-alpha Eric, I'm sure it'll get a full review after release. Great to see him smiling like mad over it though!
