To date we have run the Bakerloo Line twice, Hauptstrecke Munich Augsberg in a DB BR 423 and today we completed Peninsula Corridor. What would you like to see next? It's my choice this time, so what do you fancy? Also, which 4 expert engineers would you like to see at the helm? Any of the usual stream suspects - Adam, Jamie, JD, Matt, Natalie or myself? I'm open to suggestions.
I say you should do SKA with a Siegen service in the DB BR 1442 TALENT 2 With Matt , Sam , Natalie and JD
Southeastern High Speed: London to Faversham All safety Systems: TVM, KVB, DSD, AWS Sam, Adam, Nat, JD
Route: Northern Trans-Pennie DMU: BR Class 101 Path: Manchester to Leeds - All Stops Weather: Clear, Spring or Summer Participants: Sam, Jamie, JD and Nat Sam needs to be in to retain his victory from tonight, plus it's his favourite train in the game
The Great British Brake Off (Swiss Edition) Arosalinie downhill service with the most station stops. Any players will do.
Wuppertal-bound S8 service on Rhein Ruhr Osten - in a blizzard (preferable) or autumn heavy rain with PZB and Sifa. Natalie/Jamie/Sam/Matt
Really enjoy your races, particularly tonight’s stream really cheered me up. Maybe a 101 challenge on NTP?
Southeastern High Speed London-Faversham in the Javelin with all safety systems on. or ArosaLinie downhill from Arosa to Chur. JD, Matt, Sam and Jamie.
Tees Valley line in a class 31 full passenger service. With Matt, Sam, Adam and Natalie. Oh and Natalie must have AWS switched on!
Rapid Transit with Adam's new timetable on the Talent 2, if it's released by then (with Adam), or Köln Aachen on a Talent 2
Have you heard about Southbound Extra 3016 from Journey Chapter 2 on CRR? That one could be very entertaining. You, Matt, Adam, Natalie.
Arosa northbound in snow. Sam, Matt, JD and Jamie. Then the loser gets benched for the next one and is replaced by Adam or Nat. Or maybe Sam, Matt, JD and Nat. Just because I could see Jamie being frustrated watching a stream of a Swiss challenge that he is not involved in. LoL
LIRR M7 or M3 8 cars Penn Station to Hempstead with ATC & Alerter On. How about RB54/55 Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg-Gemünden with Sifa PZB LZB on. The Aschaffenburg Laufach services are RB58
Sand Patch Grade AC4400 the the dark blue livery Matt Jamie Natalie and JD the weather a winter blizzard
East Coastway, Brighton to Seaford and back, all safety systems, in the 377/4, with Matt, Nat, Jamie and sam
I'd go with Tees Valley line in the class 101 or the class 31 full run from Darlington to Saltburn OR Northern Transpennine in the 101, 45 or 47 full run Leeds to Manchester. I'd like to see JD, Natalie, Sam and Jamie have a go.
I'd like to see NTP, something with a 40 ideally. Perhaps an intermediate station stops rather than a full blown express or the late afternoon Manchester to Leeds loaded tankers with the double 40's?
Class 465: Strood - St Pancras, non stop. How close can you get? Closest to St Pancras is the winner...
Main-Spessart Bahn RB Gemünden(Main) -> Aschaffenburg Hbf 16:47 DBpbzfa 766.0 Some interesting stuff will happen (if this is the correct service)
RRO 16.15 Mixed Freight - Wuppertal-Steinbeck > Hagen This will have a little trick up it's sleeve that requires a bit of PZB and German Signalling knowledge (and a missing 40 speed indicator at the very first signal, which you'll have to aknowledge even though noting is visible ) Should be fun with PZB and SIFA on.
I would suggest Sand Patch Grade on the route from Salisbury to Cumberland - who will be the first to transport the goods to Cumberland - (preferably also with rainy weather)
HMA the 12:23 ICE service to München Hbf followed with taking the train to the depot. No safety systems so the players have to manage the high speed (especially for Matt). Also you have to make sure the passengers have lights and destination boards showing the correct train information and once in München shutting the train down so it can be taken to the depot and as it’s two services, the winner is the one with the highest combined score. As for the players, Sam obviously as reigning champion but for the others a random draw between Matt, Adam, JD, Jamie and Natalie with the 3rd and 4th place players being switched out with the two who couldn’t participate that time.
A collectable gathering challenge where the challenge is to gather the most collectables? All the participants have to create a new profile to reset their collectables. The route can be LIRR, ECW, or RRO. The reason for LIRR, ECW, or RRO is because there are major diverging paths/branches. That means that critical tactical decisions will have to be made to optimise collectable pickup across the map and avoids it becoming just a race for who can get through the stations the quickest along a single line (ECW and LIRR will soon have PIS which will help with tactical decisions too) Start on foot, in timetable mode, at the same terminating station, at the same time. Then participants do whatever they can (ride/drive/run/etc) to gather the most collectables in a specified amount of time.
I wouldn't probably be most supportive of it being just LIRR, that route is crazy branched and some spots can only be reached on foot. Maybe I would drop the time and spot restrictions, simply "spawn on foot somewhere you want, you have two hours to get as many collectables as you can". Other than that... I think this might be the best idea here so far!
As a real challenge I think Arosaline downhill. This would possibly put DTG Jamie as a forerunner before it starts but anything could happen
Is it alright to suggest a race for TS rather than TSW? If so, here is my idea. Steam shunting and uphill challenge Free roam scenario on a steam era route in a yard/depot preferably at the foot of a gradient (i.e. Kingswear, Falmouth Docks, Bath Green Park) Choose from a number of locos in the yard and assemble a train with a specific consist from wagons/coaches around the yard. Then bring the train into the station and haul it off up the hill. First one to reach a destination along the line wins (the uphill gradients should prevent any speeding). The free roam scenario provides the additional challenge of remembering to set the route correctly. I advise saving often. If this is impractical, I think it would be great nonetheless just to see a steam powered race next time, especially an uphill one. If the race has to be in TSW, I'm sure there would be a way to do a simplified, dieselised version on, for example, WSR or NTP. In terms of who should take part, preferably all 6 of the regular streamers. I realise not everyone may know how to drive steam locos, but I'm sure with a bit of practice it shouldn't be all that difficult.
Sorry for bumping this older thread, I had an idea I wanted to share. Another race for TS, if this is not viable then fine, but if it is it would be very interesting. Sacramento Northern end-to-end (in the EMU not the freight loco). Custom career scenario - start with 1000 points. No timetable, a get-there-as-fast-as-you-can sort of thing, however... every 10 points you lose has a time penalty (not sure how much would be fair). Would be really challenging - in the more rural parts, as true to life, there is no real speed limit, SN drivers would have to use their judgement to find a speed that would keep them to the timetable, while not making it uncomfortable for passengers, so this would add an additional element because of drive quality points. Also, the SN EMU accelerates and brakes like there's no tomorrow, so that adds an additional challenge. And when you get into the San Fran area, there are some considerable gradients and low speed limits. If, perhaps, this was chosen, I'd be happy to put the scenario together myself, if you want. Then it could be released on the workshop so people at home could play along at the time. I think it would interesting personally, and perhaps knock Sam off the podium!
I’m 99.99% certain this is for TSW2 routes only. The challenges use the TSW points system to gauge who wins.
