Hoping "Red" will encompass the maroon of an old stalwart:

Remember... it doesn't have to be a red train. Think creatively :)

After seeing your quote I decided to ditch the Class 56 Ballast shot and go with this alternative.

"Bet the Milkman saw red when he went to collect his order." :)

I was thinking red signals would be the perfect interpretation of "seeing red", but you've done the best job with it - reds everywhere ands at dusk too, so they are more visible. Well done!

I know it's 9pm GMT when I'm meant to call this, but I've been up since 5am, so if no one minds, I'll do this at 9pm BST.

Ok... well.. this wasn't easy, but after careful deliberation, and no small amount of going with gut feeling, I have arrived at the following.

    3rd Place:
    20210409164947_1.jpg
cscarpenter for a funny take on the week's theme.

    2nd place:
    20210121163711_1.jpg
JGRudnick for a VERY evocative image loaded with atmosphere.

    Which leaves 1st place to.....

    Screenshot_WCML North_55.85613--4.25884_05-03-01.jpg
IronBladder for his superb grab of Glasgow Central. Great use of a long lens to flatten perspective and an interesting take on the theme.

Well done all... That was not easy... but congrats to IronBladder who now chooses next week's theme, and of course judges next week's competition.

Thanks guys, and a great set of submissions. Red is visually a strong colour and your screenshots showed this off.

My theme for the coming week is "Going Straight". There are several ways I can see of interpreting it.

For international participants "going straight" is British slang for ending criminal activities. It also has its literal meaning.

Have fun, I'll be back next Friday to judge.

    3rd Place ???
Do you not understand how upset a Milkman feels when he turns up to thousands of gallons of yoghurt butter & cheese, when all he asked for was 2 pints of Gold Top & half a dozen free range eggs.?
You have no feelings, be ashamed, very ashamed.:(:(:(

On a serious note, great choice of winning shot.
    Congrats IronBladder

UP13 has been the traditional curator of threads, so it seems polite to give him a chance to create one. If he hasn't by 22:00 I'll start one as it's my turn to judge this week.

Just hope all is well in the UP13 camp it is unusual not to have his presence on the forum threads, especially this one.

Hopefully he's just extrememly busy or away, seeing as these poxy lockdown restrictions are starting to be relaxed at last.

    Indeed....

Maybe since the clock is ticking, last week's winner should just start a new thread?

Not sure if you are aware but IronBladder started a Week 7 thread last night.
We could maybe moving forward, have the "Winner Creates Next Weeks Thread" as the default.
It would take the pressure of just one person always having to do it.

Personally though, out of politeness I would like to hear UP13s thoughts first, as it was his idea to get this comp. up and running in the first place.

    Congratulations.

Apologies for my absence - been extremely busy with both my work and personal life lately.

Moving forward I am happy for the winner or whoever to create threads. I don't have an ego. :)
