Some of us are hoping for a 150/2 or 153 but even better would be a 118 or 120!

I am really pleased for everyone on this thread that it has been "noticed".

This stretch of mainline is probably the least interesting stretch, without any tunnels, but you do get a couple of viaducts, and St Michaels Mount, but by having the St Ives branch, will give it the variability.

St Ives will be in the news a lot globally this year with the G7, so it will tie in well with lots of chatter about St Ives.

Talking of St Ives line, it will be interesting if the tide is permanently out or in. Will we have water or mudflats past Lelant etc...

I am surprized that by going to Truro that they haven't got the Falmouth branch as well, to give it the top and tail. As it would have the same train as St Erth-St Ives.

Hey ho, ultimately I am really excited :)

This is set during the 50s to 90s so I do wonder what will be running on it. Probably a 117DMU and that’s it considering Rivet only normally have 1 set of traction on a route.
The Roadmap shows GGD-R5 01 which means that it’s diesel.

My thoughts exactly. It’s the one part of the Mainline I don’t really know haha. I would have personally preferred Plymouth to Par and Looe to Liskeard. But never mind. There’s always room for expansions (if they ever happen :D)

By doing this section they can sidestep any freight, certainly by the late 80s west of Truro was pretty much down to the twice weekly oil tanks to serve Long Rock Depot.

If set in the 1980s Class 150 Sprinter has the Two tone paint like the Class 142-144 pacers which are common to this line and TVL set in 1989.
Here's a Class 150 sprinter in the Two Tone Paint in 1987[IMG]

By doing the east, they wouldnt have the water problem of St Ives...

I am really pleased that Cornwall gets on the map. What is the betting that on any sort of weather other than sunny its misty so you cant see the waves? :)

Lets see what Rivet can do :)

The 150s didn’t really reach Cornwall until after the 158s arrived along with the 143s for the Valleys. At that point Laira got a small allocation redeployed from Canton.

Didn't get these down here until the late 2000s - Sprinters didn't appear until 1992-1995ish on the Cornish Branches, then it was a mix of 150/2s &153s - 155s, and later 158s on the mainline.

GW took on a bunch of ex-LO /1 sets second hand when the 172s arrived in London

Given that Diesel Hydraulic is included (thus far) in this route, it would be like 1950-1968 or so rather than having the possibility of this route in the 70s, 80s, or 90s.
