Interestingly, ( and someone correct me if i'm wrong), only two diesel hydraulic locos ever saw regular service in the US. About 20 or so German built ML 4000's could be seen here on Western railroads back in the 1960's, along with a couple of Alco experimental units for SP.

Yeah the codes are kind of weird. Like there are more narrow codes for the 1800s than there are for the 1900s despite the 20th century clearly having more railway innovation and advancement. Also apparently we needed to have codes for atomic powered locomotives and jet turbines.

I believe that's the case. Southern Pacific ordered them, along with a small order by Rio Grande (which they later sold to SP). In both cases what they wanted was the horsepower, not the transmission: the GP20 and F9 were as big as US locos got at the time, with 2000 and 1750 ponies respectively; the Krauss-Maffei developed 3500. However, their hydraulic transmissions proved to be unsuited to the steep grades where their horsepower was needed, and moreover within just a couple of years the SD40, SD45, U30C and U33C were on the market.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Br 363 has got hydraulic transmission and the Class 08/09 are diesel electrics, right?

Not intending to be harsh at all. I think Dovetail has done a fantastic job, and I love learning the European routes. As a Canadian I’d love to see something from our CN route then the Rockies, or Go Transit/VIA in the Golden Horseshoe, that’s all. Just a whimsical sigh, not a shot at Dovetail at all.

Ach, you're right, the 363 has a hydraulic transmission. I was misled by the jackstaff-and-bevel gear final drive.

Don't know why I said that about the Gronk. Maybe the connecting rods (why on earth would a DE need connecting rods?)

I believe so, the ALCO Unit (DH-643) was built as a response to the ML4000's. They didn't last long and the SP scrapped them in the early 70's, while the ML4000's were retired in the late 1960's. I cant recall any other US railroad using Diesel Hydraulic power.

At least we have 1 diesel hydraulic locomotive that survived, SP#9010.

I agree a Rocky Mountain passes or something in Windsor-Quebec Corridor.

I would love to see Union Station and the CN Tower in the game.

It’s good to hear that the DB BR 143 and DB BR 406 ICE 3M are going to be on Rapid Transit. So the DB BR 1442 Talent 2, DB BR 182, and DB BR 143 will get their own timetable services. Sounds lovely. I believe the DB BR 406 ICE 3M will be drivable.

You think we get the short end? According to the marketing people, a very, vary large proportion of TSW customers are Australian- and has there been even a whisper of an Ozzie route?

Nope, Adam said in the RM stream there won't be any new stations in the "worked with" RT update

Nein, es wurden keine "heftigen" Änderungen wie zB neue Station von der Preserved Crew hinzugefügt, nur Vorhandenes verbessert

Building a station is a huge job of work, one far beyond Adam's little team of four.

In general, I can't see DTG adopting a policy of trying to keep updating routes as their real-life models change: that way madness lies! Instead, view each as a time capsule of its era, like MSB with the old tunnel still in use, or GWE with electrification being installed.

Sorry, guys. Have someone met problems with completing of DB BR 204 tutorial? I mean the next issue. When I release independent brake task marker don't disappear and therefore I can't compete this tutorial. I sent a ticket last year but I hadn't seen that DTG included this issue to roadmap
