So does that mean two types of services on H-L, or literally two services?

In any case, makes H-L more appealing.

The 101 is really good so far. Nice for a quick but busy 30 min drive.

Well done DTG! The services in Hamburg-Lübeck were the only thing I needed to make up my mind to buy it :)

Sounds like just 2 timetable services, I would presume if it was more it wouldn’t be specified and just announced as a layer

I imagine they will be for everyone, otherwise they would have written it in the article.

I'm loving this train. Great work. And the All together scenario was really fun.

And the article doesn’t even mention the timetable services in HRR, saying it’s just 3 scenarios. That might put people off.

Don't hold your breath. Existing routes don't get services for new locos added- at least, not unless Adam goes in as he apparently has with RT, junks the whole existing timetable and builds a new one.

When HBL comes out, the 112 will be available as a substitution for the 146 and other passenger locos. But a substitution is not a service layer.

I would’ve thought that layers would’ve been added at launch

You would have thought wrong. As is mentioned time and time again on threads like this layers don’t get added to older routes when something new comes along.

After a few hours of testing:

The 101 is the best passenger locomotive in the game.
The 101 is the best German electric locomotive in the game (I am sorry, 155).
The 101 is perhaps the best TSW locomotive in the game, so far, overall.
    ** but competition exists! **

Hauptstrecke Rhein - Ruhr shines now.

    Graphics | perfect.
Audio | same league as 363, maybe better.
A wealth of high-quality sounds (e.g. when driving over switches - nice touch).
Physics - one of the best in-game right now. Very immersive. Feels realistic.
Gameplay - HRR only but very addictive to drive. It is fun!

A very big surprise. Great DLC. GJ DTG \o/

I’d say the 465 is just a bit better

I’d have said the same... but

the 465 is an EMU and not a loco, so they can both be the best ;)

The added traffic and the adverse signals makes HRR so much more interesting.

It feels like Rush Hour already on Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr, since the DB BR 101 released. I mean, every time I do a service on the 101, I pass quite a lot of AI trains. Especially, with the added traffic and adverse signals. HRR is my favourite German route now.

Really enjoying the 101 so far. Beautiful modeling and sounds + interesting service runs in timetable mode with lots of traffic and red signals to keep the driver concentrated! :)

This is, of course, my subjective opinion, and I didn't use the word train, just in case.
But I am sorry to all the other locomotives :) ** You are all beautiful, only neglected!

In all seriousness though, I do agree that the 101 is in a league of its own and I absolutely love driving it :D Still love six axles, however. To use the words of a famous British TV host - This is brilliant <101>, but I like this <155> :D

Where did you get this info? All I heard in the streaming is that it won't come as layer at the moment due to memory issues (on consoles dare I say), but might be added in the future if they find a way to further optimise memory usage, which I personally find unlikely.

DTG have never added a layer to an older route for a new loco (except for that loco's "home" route). Just the other way round.

Well, I did use the past tense... ;)

Adam completely threw out RT's existing timetable and built a new one from scratch (which took up most of his time for the month). I don't see them doing that with routes less sparsely populated than RT; it was their first German route and thus had literally no layers at all.

This right here. Wanted to thank everybody involved in the making of this wonderful loco. Looks absolutely stunning, sounds good and drives incredible. Probably one of the best simulated german electric loco so far in TSW 2. It feels really heavy when braking, and the acceleration is also really interesting as it won't just launch off like a rocket. Even at 50% power( about 40kN) it still accelerates gradually, just can't stress enough how i love weighty locos. The only thing that is a bit weird at times is the wheelslip. I always thought that with the newer DB electric locos, you could just smash the power handle into 100% and let the adhesion system control the power settings as to not cause wheelslip. Maybe if someone has more info on this, i would love to hear it :). Wish everybody a nice day and keep on driving them sweet trains. Cheers

I agree. I joked about the Br 155 in my previous post and don‘t get me wrong - I still love the 155 in TSW, but there‘s no real debate about the best German electric loco right now. The 101 wins easily. We haven‘t gotten anything with such detailed physics and features thus far - at least not as far as German content is concerned. And we all know that we have Maik Goltz and his team to thank for this. They truly went above and beyond with the 101.

That brings two things to my mind.
    1. I‘m even more excited about TSG‘s 232 now. :D
    2. Indulge me for a moment. What if we could get TSG (or DTG with TSG involvement like the 101) to do a Br 151. Imagine an old-school, tap changer, six axle electric loco with the quality level (both physics and features) of the 101 :D

I’ll wait for a good sale as this loco has limited use so far. HRR is already crowded with options and the route is simply too short and metropolitan to properly feel the difference between regional and intercity services.

A TSG version of the amazing 151 would be so much fun, fingers crossed and squeezed till it hurts xD. I can imagine the physics at work there, where every tap change produces different sounds behind, the couplers clashing from pulling insanely heavy freight cars with a double yellow distant signal passed while PZB U mode engaged. We can dream :D. Cheers

Oh yes. Imagine if we got the heavy ore trains with automatic couplings and double 151s. That would be an absolute beast to control :D

Just a dream for now, that‘s true :)

Having played some more with the 101 the weekend, I now love it. I still have yet to fully master the wheelslip but the driving handling I really like the weight and inertia of it. I went back to play the 146.2 on MSB last night after a good few hours with the 101 and the 146.2 feels like an arcade loco. It accelerates and brakes like it weighs next to nothing, while I was only hauling 2 Dostos but still.

My only niggle with the 101. I can't put my finger on it but it seems like the camera is a bit off centre to the drives chair.

Also, why does the tutorial make you use the reduced headlight setting. I've only ever seen the 101a use the normal setting
