Is it possible to combine your own liveries for the eurofirma coaches and your own livery for the br 101? (like creating a RailJet livery for the whole train)
...a BR101 in "Rheingold Express" livery. It was a famous luxery train, which was in service until 1987. Nowadays there are still existing rail cars, which are used for special trips or unique rail tours. The BR101 is really a very nicely made model, which also can be used on other German routes, like Köln-Achen or Rhein-Ruhr Ost. It would be nice, if there were some future timetable services on these routes too...
I love that classic cream-and-crimson livery ("beige" and "purple-red" were the official colors). I did an ICE3 in them.
My first attempt at weathering, any advice on improving? Prototype There are some more details I'd like to add but I'm nearly out of layers
I take it this is an add on where all these passenger cars are coming from? Because why the hell would they let us used preserved collection items...that would be what they have promised us for years.
We need more layers!!! I get it you probably minimised the projection depth to paint the shape correctly on the side. It would probably be better to throw extra 2-4 layers into it to copy the shape manually and not lose the option to paint the inner sanders and steps in the frame. Otherwise great job.
Getting there; it's progressing now. What I did was make two bargain-basement "Clinchfield"s, that aren't all that accurate but much cheaper in layers than the "real" ones on the F7. The yellow ones on the sides don't even have tops, I just hid them under coal dust! The casual rag-wipe of the nose logo came from a photo, so it was a thing. CRR's 3010-series SD40s had white-on-black number boards, which is fortunate both because they show better under the grime, and because they used fairly normal numerals rather than the sylized ones used in the black-on-yellows.
It looks really good; all I would do is up the transparency on the streaking to make it less jump-out-at-you.
Thanks! Just done it and it looks a lot better, I also managed to add some missing details in, bringing the total up to 300 That's exactly what I did, I will probably use a smaller square which just covers the red areas but is fully inside the shaped grey piece. I'll let you know if I manage to do that but those liveries with a lot of writing are a pain to do because the projection tool is almost useless and everything takes double the amount of layers, I am still missing some punctuation in the main writing Wouldn't it be cool if you had a text editor where you could write a sentence (in different fonts with bold, italics, etc...) and then convert it into 1 layer? Anyway thanks for your feedback this is the almost end result after following the advice given by solicitr
You are the one who for sure would be the best at creating the Rheingold livery for the IC-Coaches. Might want to try and share it with us? I'm sure it would look awesome!
Now that you talk about it... you could probably use what you did and add one just slightly smaller rectangle (so it doesn't mess the ends) with maxed out projection settings to cover all the holes in just one extra layer.
That would depend on my buying the 101- and I'm not sold. If it included the cab car and all the variety of coaches that make up a real-life IC train, I would have it already- but I'm not all that interested in a partial train. Moreover, its functionality is highly limited on HRR, with no timetable layers in HMA or SKA where it could stretch its legs. Maybe when it's 50% off. However, I am toying with doing a TEE/Rheingold livery for the ICE3. (PS: how can it really be the Rheingold with no dome car?)
...a former "Metropolitan" livery for the BR101. These trains ran from 1999 until 2004 between Cologne and Hamburg. Just made the loco not the wagons, because they looked a little different, more like ICE1 or ICE2 middle cars.
Eurofima C1 livery, with the late FS (italian national rail company) logo. This was the original liveries of the Eurofima coaches, before the various rail operators used their own paint scheme. I don't want to weather it as this livery didn't last for very long Official colours: Orange: 22/99/89 White stripe: 100/2/78 Roof: 45/11/30 Can't wait to do more Eurofima liveries
Saw a few red Rheingolds here but no blue ones - so that’s what I’ll add to the thread Could be better and have the full detail on the grey skirts, but I’m happy with this for now
Mmmm, custom numbers and painted step rails your first time out- the Force is strong with you, young Jedi!
Just a suggestion- black and white objects rarely are actual jet black or pure white- I think your locos would look more natural if you backed the color off to a very dark gray; try a value of 8 to 12 and see what you think.
well I did do a lot of stuff on xbox but finally got a pc. I went back after posting and made the white a little more gray.
All right, that's it. 300 layers and I'm done messing with it. I'll upload the pair tomorrow. \ And it still isn't as grotty as the real ones
