Why are people so keen on a route set in the USA in the 1860's but not in a British one set between 1880 and 1910? If this proves popular may we yet see a proper pre-grouping route?

Riviera line in the 1880's perhaps? Now that I would love to see!

I think some people forget that Broad Gauge lasted from around 1836 - 1892... that's 56 years, way more time than any GWR Castle was in service for, and longer than we haven't had steam hauled service trains! Look how many routes we have from the past 56 years... loads! Look how many we have for the 56 years before that... very few. And before that? None.
