Today, I am suggesting the Midland Main Line for TSW 2. Most of the information can be found in this video: Route Information The Midland Main Line is a Big Stretch of track, spanning over 390 Miles, from London St. Pancras to Sheffield and Nottingham. It has 35 Stations, and shares many similarities to that of the East Coast Main Line and West Coast Main Line. Since a 350+ Mile Long route would be way too big for Train Sim World, I am only suggesting the Southern portion of the line between London St. Pancras and Bedford. This route would have 44 Miles of track, with 16 Stations. Operating Companies It would contain 2 operating companies. Thameslink and East Midlands Railway. East Midlands Railway would operate 2 tph in both directions between London and Bedford, with one train stopping at Luton, and the other stopping at Luton Airport Parkway. Thameslink would operate 10 tph along some parts of the route (Mainly the section between St. Albans City, and St. Pancras), and taper off to just 4 tph along the Northern end of the route. Rolling Stock This route could come with a nice variety of rolling stock. Thameslink Class 700 'Desiro City' East Midlands Railway Class 43 HST Class 222 'Voyager' Class 180 'Adelante' This route would see players operating Commuter Services with the Thameslink Trains, alongside the High-Speed Services with East Midlands Railway. It could give a similar experience to that of GWR. What do you think about this suggestion?
Love it, however it is probably more likely with FCC instead of Thameslink to be honest. Still would love to see this route.
Excellent idea and if this were to be set during FGC Era the new trains are class 319s. However one train will be layered in from ECW the Class 377 with the PTSO 3rd car getting a Pantograph.
Really does depend on what time period you want it. Apparently the Thameslink brand is hard to licence, so first capital connect is more likely. Consequently, it would be stagecoach east midland and trains instead of Abellio East Midlands railway. In terms of traction for the era set, valenta paxman hst’s, 222 meridians and 319’s However if it were to be set in the modern day, 180’s only ran along with the valenta paxman engines for a month. Therefore class 360/1’s, 700’s, 222’s and 180’s
First Capital Connect has Class 377s for Thameslink duty. Therefore layered in from ECW with the PTSO having a Pantograph. Option 2 is reskin from Govia Southern Rail into First Capital Connect Paint and Standard with the route.
Or a class 127 Bedpan unit, class 45, some nice mark 1's & 2's plus layers for the class 31 and 47. Maybe a class 25 for the more northern stretches and layers for the class 101 up there.
I also forgot the now disused branch to Moorgate via the old King's Cross low level station. That would be interesting.
