I was thinking, Specifically for UK routes Why don't you give the driver the tools to set up the locomotive and train, using key options that access the master key and also a carriage key to activate relevant controls. Rather than the said implements being ready like they were just left there. In BR days the driver would get a pouch containing these items when they sign on. This sort of thing might be useful on Non-UK routes related to their drivers.
No thanks. I fear this would turn TSW more into a click-and-point alike puzzle game. I'm fine with the current system.
We do not want a FPS style weapon selection wheel for selecting the correct key to start your train. It would be a pointless process. It’s fine the way it is where the game assumes you have the correct tool for the job or it is already inserted in the older train models.
I must agree with this mostly. I do like the functionality of keys in the game, and I do actually dislike it when a key is modeled in permanently. I like being able to add and remove a key from a keyhole for realism purposes, but that's already being done the way I like it in the newer trains with keys, master keys and reversers, especially on most German EMU's where you click once to insert the key, and then click and drag to turn the key into the desired setting.
