It also doesn't look from that as if we get the branches either. Literally the 8 miles around the Circle and one type of rolling stock. If this sells for more than £10 it will be overpriced - considering I just paid £8 to add the State of Colorado (albeit scaled down) to ATS. Maybe it's time DTG came away from the dogma of short obsessively prototypical routes and moved to the ETS/ATS paradigm of covering a much larger area in the same space, by selective compression and highlights as SCS do, with the subsequent parts fully and seamlessly interlocking.
DTG keeps offering less and less... In the past we got per route two new trains, then one new train and other reused, and now only reused trains included with the route ahahahaha( including Hamburg Lübeck) And they keep offering less and less for the same price which is ridicouless. I bet the Cathcart will not have the two branches. This route development was to fast, maybe due to the reusing of trains ( 313=314), and only do the circle of the route and not include the two branches.
If there no 2 branches as full route and not making the newer trains from Hitachi I want not spend the 30€ for it.
Yup, loving ETS 2 prices and loving even more when it's on sale. I'm buying know the base game for only 5€!
Unfortunate that only the 314 seems to be included, though not unexpected. But what from these achievements makes you think that the additional branches are not included?
Presumably because the achievement that mention locations only mention the circle? I don't know, seems like jumping to conclusions to me at this point.
I’m not overly concerned that we’ll only get the 314. However, if we don’t get the two branches, this would be an instant deal breaker for me, especially if the route is priced at £24.99. I’ll definitely wait for a significant reduction in the sales if that’s the case and may not buy it at all.
I don't think so - the main focus of TSW2 is driving trains, however in ETS2, the driving is only part of the game so they can get away with just vague representations of places. They're not really comparable as they're very different pieces of software. Plus, if they do move to that sort of route building style, it'd need an entirely new game IMO, else it'll look and feel really strange driving a TGV through a compressed France, then to move immediately to a 1:1 recreation of, say, GWML.
Given the number of posts on this site about the wrong fencing included on SEHS I doubt this would work with this crowd. They want long routes, loads of trains AND everything bang on to real life. Toning down the accuracy (even more than it already is) wouldn't work
Let's be realistic, we aren't going to get a dozen different trains to cover the AI for a mile stretch out of Glasgow Central. I'm looking forward to this route, something short and easy to drive if you've got half an hour to spare. Plus it's the first Scottish route!
The strange fact is that achievements are already on steam and there hasn't been an article on this route yet ...
Hm I could swear I have seen somewhere that the general description of Cathcart circle does include the branches... Anyway, the release seems to be rather sooner than later, which means that the first article will be dropping in the next weeks. That should answer some of our questions.
Yeah - it's called "Shrinkflation".... It is a perfectly normal way to do business.....: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40703866 NB: I am told that Wagon Wheels are the same size, it's just that my hands have got bigger....?
DTG usually tries not to move the focus to new routes when they are going to release another one in a few days (in this case HBL).
I could swear that the SouthEastern High Speed lines don't end at Ebbsfleet, doesn't mean that the game depicts all of it
But that comaprison doesn't hold up as well since the start and end point of the Southeastern route that was built were known from the beginning. This here feels more like "Arosa Linie" in which you would expect the whole thing, since it doesn't state "Arosalinie: Arosa to Lüen-Castiel" in the name. In the end it neither confirms or refutes whether we will see the whole thing, I just think that by this deduction it is a fair guess.
Until it's confirmed I personally don't see the point in speculation. I'll just wait for the official announcement, which hopefully will be soon enough when this Thursday's release is out of the way
It's more like if they added "GCC-R7 05 South London Metro with Class 455" to the roadmap. That could literally be anything.
It definitely seems like a quantity versus quality situation. DTG seems to have determined that producing more routes is more profitable than spending more time on creating new locos (that is new locos included in routes). Between now and the end of the upcoming Summer we are getting 5 completely new routes with many being some of the longest routes ever created in TSW. It used to be that new routes came every 3-4 months and included 2-3 new trains. The difference now is that DTG have mastered the art of reusing locos whether partially or completely. In these 5 known upcoming routes, there is arguably only 1 confirmed completely new train. That is the 314 in Cathcart Circle and even that is going to be quickly reused into a 313 DLC for ECW. My point is that DTG have clearly seen that spending less time on developing completely new locos (which takes a lot of time and effort according to Matt) means they can develop routes at faster intervals that still sell well.
