Hey guys, i think it would be nice if DTG implemented a controlled time warping feature to avoid long waiting times(like hours) at depots for the next service to start after you've finished a service, say for example: You drive a HST from Paddington to Reading. You exit at Reading. You see two Class 166 trains at the Depot and want to drive them. But, the service starts an hour later and you don't have hours. Steps. 1- Exit the train 2- Go to a specified warping point present at the station 3- Set your desired time and warp to it. Please post your views guys.
Isn't this almost the same as "Go back to the main menu, select the next scenario and boom the scenario jumps to the correct time"?
No. You can just pass time without loading screens. This feature is implemented in Kerbal Space Program. I got the inspiration from there.
Didn't account for loading screens. Does Kerbal Space Program have specified AI running at predetermined intervals and assets that need to be loaded to satisfy that?
Considering the editor can simulate an entire day of services mode in 2 hours, I see no reason why time acceleration up to 12x speed wouldn't work. Maybe it would need to hide graphics to remove the GPU from the picture, but it is a worthwhile feature.
I'm a bit puzzled by this concept. Why not just revert to the menu, select the next scheduled service, and run it?
