I have to say that I find these forums/threads quite a mess - as is with almost all forum/chat places - but this is DTG's, and so I would expect a little more organisation. Can we have a set of Forums started purely for help with individual DLCs - maybe sub forums for the locos? By help, I mean 'newbies' to trains and this game, where 'we' can ask for help on a particular DLC/Scenario. ...and within that, help for the included locos. When you have a 'Search' option, you should be able to apply it to a certain Forum - where is the 'DLC Help' Forum? At the moment, I just find dozens/hundreds of thread titles that don't help me Example in question: I've tried playing the 'Sand Patch Grade', Scenario 'Fully Fuelled' Most scenarios give you specific instructions, but this one kinda leaves you hanging with 'Automatic Brake', 'Reverser', etc. which 'we' know how to set, but leaves a 'Pointer' over the 'Cutout Valve'. Assuming it is happy with 'Freight', the 'Pointer' goes away. Is this correct for all the train? My point is there are two rear, two forward locos. Do these need to be set? Generator Field - On/Off Cutout Valve - Cut-Out/Freight/Passenger MU-2A Valve - Lead or Dead/Trail 6 or 26/Trail 24 Fast forward, I've tried playing this scenario 3 times now, and it's at least 30mins in before you have any idea of whether or not you will make it up to the 'top'. I cannot finish this route. My best was 1.5 miles off top. I decided to uncouple 26 of the 52? units and made it to the top after about 10mins of slipping and sliding. The remaining 26? units and two rear locos are still gathering dust! So, my example is a start for what I propose as a new set of Forums/threads as below. ------------------------------------ Main Forum title: JUST for Help ?? ------------------------------------- Sub-Forum titles for the following Routes: Arosalinie: Chur - Arosa Canadian National Oakville Subdivision: Hamilton - Oakville Clinchfield Railroad: Elkhorn - Dante Diesel Legends of the Great Western East Coastway: Brighton - Eastbourne & Seaford Great Western Express Hauptstrecke Hamburg - Lübeck Hauptstrecke München - Augsburg Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr: Duisburg - Bochum Isle Of Wight: Ryde - Shanklin LGV Méditerranée: Marseille - Avignon Long Island Rail Road: New York - Hicksville Main Spessart Bahn: Ascheffenburg - Gemünden Northern Trans-Pennine: Manchester - Leeds Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco - San Jose Rapid Transit Rhein-Ruhr Osten: Wuppertal - Hagen Ruhr-Sieg Nord: Hagen - Finnentrop Southeastern High Speed: London St Pancras - Faversham Tees Valley Line: Darlington – Saltburn-by-the-Sea West Somerset Railway ---------------------------------------------- Sub-Forum titles for the following Locos: BR Class 20 'Chopper' BR Class 31 BR Class 33 BR Class 52 'Western' BR Heavy Freight Pack CSX C40-8W Caltrain MP15DC Diesel Switcher Caltrain MP36PH-3C ‘Baby Bullet’ DB BR 101 DB BR 155 DB BR 182 DB BR 204 DB BR 363 LIRR M3 EMU Southeastern BR Class 465 EMU ------------------------------------------- Whatever locos are specific to a route (I haven't time to list that lot), can have a sub-sub-forum under that particular route. Can we help our players, rather than just constantly complaining about low doors and wrong headlights? Maybe a happier bunch of new gamers might get DTG the time and money to employ more 'beta testers' and roll a few heads at QC - (Sam appeared to point the finger that way? - Adam bit his tongue!) "Rail On" Connie.
Yep, you best ask for help in your platform specific forum section. Although all platforms have the same content, there's probably a few difference related to controls and button-layout (or key-layout) between platforms :P
On this issue: breblimator has an excellent table for setting up North American diesels in his signature. The blue link in my signature is a video guide on the same matter. I hope either one of these can help you. It always pays to double check the setup for all engines since they‘re often not set up correctly when starting a service/scenario.
