Here's an early sneak peek at something Yuri (Anna?) and I have been working on. Well, to be perfectly honest, Yuri did the services entirely, and like half of the skin. I imported a new mesh of the MP15DC into the game which was edited so we could do the CSX logo properly as the original had a decal shaped specifically for the CalTrain logo (which is why you haven't seen any reskins of the MP15DC before).
Oh man I've been waiting for this Tryed to moddel it myself but it has a very complex way it's made. Anyway good job looks really nice and looking forward to be driving this thing.
Little bit of an update: I still have to edit the top number boards to have 4 digits, and the sheen is a tad bit strong so it needs to get toned down a tad bit for the paint to match the other CSX stock, and some minor adjustments here and there, and I still have to set up the 14 sockets necessary in UE (all minor stuff). Other than that, it's getting there. Also, damn this loco looks good in CSX paint.
It will substitute for the Y100-series timetable services (all yard switching services added in TSW2). Also, I think Yuri was trying to get it working as substitution for GP38's in the Freeroam Scenario. Not sure how that one worked out.
Another update, pretty much finished with the differences in the model between the the CSX version and CalTrain versions of the MP15DC. See if you can spot the differences. Hint - Number Boards.
Me too. I first asked someone to make these services like months ago already. Last week I asked Yuri, and she's done them already. Anyway, the mod is nearly finished, but I have to move today so I will be out of commission for God knows how long, I've sent all the source files to Yuri so she can try and finish the texture though.
Man, what an awesome mod! When it's finished, it will definitely add a lot of variety to shunting services on SPG. Yeah, that's a question I would like to know as well. If it's a "separate" train for SPG then that's really impressive.
Hi, Yuri here! Yes this replaces the SFJ MP15DC scheme entirely. So if you want to run Caltrain you'll need to remove this mod from your DLC folder first. In regards to Cumberland Switchback, I intend to try to get that working tonight. In addition to doing most of the body texture,, I also did some other little tweaks like giving it two prototypical running numbers and removing the CT abbreviation from the menu.
Nearly there. At this point I'm considering the Exterior model complete, the Cab is done as well, however I still might add a plate to the cab, yet to be concluded. Also, I still need to add some dirt and grime to certain spots as well.
Not sure yet. There are efforts being made to turn it into it's own thing. However, the MP15DC is a paid product from DTG, and as such whatever we release cannot circumvent that. From what I understand now it will not, as has been explained to me by Muff (trainsimcz), because this part is being done by him. Stay tuned.
Why does that matter though? I mean it's not like you're re-releasing the Peninsula Corridor MP15 again for free. You're making a mod for Sand Patch Grade, that would not give someone the Pensinsula Corridor MP15 for free, I suppose.
