The Cane Creek Subdivision, developed by skyhook games, is coming soon to TSW2. There are many other locos that run (or used to run) on this route other than the included locomotives (AC4400CW and SD40-2), so I am creating this thread to give Skyhook Games some ideas for their first entry into Train Sim World. So, without further ado, let's get started.

    Locomotive #1: EMD SD90/43MAC
The first locomotive on the list is the SD90/43MAC. This is basically a "downgraded" SD90MAC, built in the 90s, equipped with an EMD 16-710G3C engine generating 4,300 horsepower, instead of the EMD 265H engine these came with. As the American railfans may know, the SD90, along with the GE AC6000CW, was a failure, since their 6,000 HP engines suffered from frequent maintenance issues. As a result locomotives like the SD90/43MAC started showing up on the high iron. These locomotives used to run on this branch line (AFAIK all the UP SD90/43s were retired or scrapped), but it would be nice to go a few years back in time and see this loco on the mainline services running up and down the branch line in TSW2.

    UP SD90/43MAC #3491

    Locomotive #2: EMD SD70M
My second loco dlc idea for the Cane Creek branch is the EMD SD70M. Developed in the early 90's, these locomotives became very popular on the Union Pacific (the railroad purchased over 1,000 units!). They are equipped with an EMD 16-710G3B engine, generating 4,000 hp. The SD70Ms would (AFAIK) be seen hauling the Potash local and the "dirt" train along with the SD90/43MAC. Almost all the EMD locos currently in the game have 645-series engines, and only one (yes the class 66 was built by EMD) features the 710 engine, so it would be nice to see newer, more powerful EMD locomotives in the game.
    Union Pacific SD70M #4824

    Locomotive #3: GE ES44AC
My third and final suggestion for Cane Creek is the GE ES44AC. This is a way newer locomotive than the two previous locos, developed in the early to mid 2000s, and has a GEVO-12 diesel engine cranking out 4,400 horses. It would be the second GE locomotive in the game, and the Union Pacific rosters over 900 of these locos, as well as a further 296 ES44AH "heavy" units.
    UP ES44AC #7495

    Conclusion:
I would like to see at least one of these locomotives as DLC for the cane creek route. Hopefully skyhook or DTG can make one of these (or even all of them in a UP pack, although this might be a little over-ambitious). These locomotives could also layer into PC, even if there are no mainline freight trains running on the line these days, we're just gonna have to pretend it's the year 2008.:)

Since we're not getting the spine cars that are used in the "dirt" train, I would also like to see this car included with one of these locos, even if we don't get any container loaders/loading activities and just spawn with the whole train ready to go.

These would be perfect. Especially for both Peninsula Corridor and Capitol Corridor. And the future UP/SP routes such as Beaumont Hill, Palmdale Cutoff and Donner Pass. And maybe the Moffat Sub.

Excellent idea and speaking of SD70M Ace there's the tier 4 version available the 3000s and those can be reskinned as a CSX 8900 for Sand Patch Grade

Yep, and if we ever do get Tier 4 Aces then we could see them as run thru power on future CSX routes, but it might require the scenario planner.

How about timetable service mode it would be a transcontinental freight Port of Baltimore to Los Angeles Long Beach which is the sea port for Los Angeles.

Oh definitely. Complete with both TOFC/COFC and stacks.

Absolutely correct and here's SPG timetable from Trenomarcus's website. Some of these Qxxx services are the double stack services or trailer on flat car. Even better is Cane Creek giving sand patch grade transcontinental Potash Freight.

Honestly for me to say this, what would be the point in having more locos for this Branch Line. Don't get me wrong here, but it would feel like to have the same issue as WSR got, lots of loco add-ons used on a dead end route (I know, ironic). Plus a few extra track between Brendel and Thompson doesn't feel that long to drive on the main either.
And also, Peninsula Corridor was more focused on passengers than freight (as well as CalTrain being the center of operations for it). So the GP38 will likely be the only unit to operate on that route now and forever it seems. Unless DTG extended the line to Gilroy, but I don't see that happening anytime soon either.

My short point to this is: Best to see these locos used on better, longer US freight routes (when the time comes) than on a branch line with at least 2 services to play with and call it done. And yes, they can be substituted to Cane Creek if possible.

Wouldn't be surprised if there would be a chessie system timetable dlc for spg since there's 2 chessie wagons next to the track

An SD60M "Triclops" would be a great addition, too. The ET44AC (called a C45AH by UP) is another loco I want. For the Rio Grande DLC, I'd suggest an SD7 or SD9, GP40-2, SD50, GP60, and/or GP7 or GP9.

Excellent Idea for DLC locomotive ET44AC the tier 4s are Union Pacific 2500s-2600s Cane Creek. If reskinned for SPG those become CSX 3100s-3200s. GP40-2 needs a reskin from CSX to Union Pacific for Cane Creek and for SD50 & GP60 if made for Cane Creek those van be reskinned for CSX

While all of these are great suggestions, I agree with what Challenger3985 said. An issue that many people have with TSW currently is the fact that routes reuse trains. Even when those reused trains are 100% accurate, it still makes a route less exciting for some people. So it would be a lot better to introduce great locomotives such as the SD70M and ES44AC with brand new routes, rather then building them for a branch line that can't fit many new timetable services.

You cant do the D&RGW, without tunnel motors.

Can't forget the SD40T-2s. I want them in both UP and D&RGW liveries, plus a patched D&RGW/UP version. What about SD70ACes and SD70ACe-T4s (SD70AH-T4s on UP)? A C44-9W or AC6000CW (CW60AC) are other nice ideas. The CW60AC could be a rebuilt UP CW4460AC (4400HP in a CW60AC). Perhaps we could get some of these modern diesels (ET44AH, ST70AH, CW60AC/CW46AH (CSX AC6000CW rebuild w/ a GEVO-16 engine), SD70AH, SD70MAC etc.) for the CSX Sand Patch route.

Add a UP and/or ex-D&RGW GP60 to the list, as well as an AC4460AC (AC6000CW with a 4400HP 7FDL-16 prime mover instead of a 6000HP 7HDL-16 engine). An SD60M, SD50, or SD60 Spartan Cab would be cool for this route as well. A GP40-2 would be another good addition to a UP Cane Creek DLC Pack.
