Love in Trains since I do know someone who works in the rail industry for Port Authority trans-hudson. Shorthand abbreviation PATH Train.
The poll makes no sense and clearly the work of someone who hasn’t grasped the English language. You can ‘love trains’ but you can’t love IN trains. You can have A love IN railways as in to be an enthusiast. You can have a love ‘FOR’ trains and the railway. Other than that, this poll is junk. Far too many polls about nonsense springing up lately.
Big words from a guy that writes literal excerpts on how the class 166 accelerates milliseconds faster or slower in this game compared to the real thing, then apologizes and then starts again with it... Why not have some unimportant and harmless fun in between all these serious or negative posts
On topic: I read it as doing love to trains or doing love in trains, which brings this to a whole new level Regardless, I went for love in trains...
I really like these little teases here I joke stupidly sometimes, I admit. However, I will show some humility - the grammatical form was incorrect, that's obvious. It was, in a way, the result of PEGI. I shortened some phrases while thinking in Polish, writing incorrectly in English. I'm sorry. Sometimes I like to joke "intelligently and maliciously", Gary EDIT Be my guest
I hope this metaphor is perceived as beautiful in English as it sounds in Polish. Super-poetic. Bravo!
If making love in an aeroplane is joining the Mile High Club, is making love in a train joining the Mile Long Club?
haha or maybe the Mill Steel Club? PS I don't know, something is wrong with my English again... You could even design some badges, sell certificates!
It is average of 15-30 seconds too fast - hardly milliseconds. The physics need to be corrected and I will not stop pursuing this until DTG have got their act together and sorted it out I apologised for the way I delivered the criticism in previous posts. However, I still stand by the original criticism itself, especially as I have been out on more real life data recording trips to confirm my original observation.
I would agree that the poll is a little out there, but linguistically speaking you should indeed definitely replace "to" with "for". I mean, no one said "love" was a verb in this context.
"Perusing" is absolutely fine in this context FFS. Or did you think he meant to say "persuing"? Anyway, this whole thread is bollox, so why not add some eh Crosstie
I ges you misd the poynt. Anyway, the whole point is that we welcome everyone on to the forums, whether or not English is his/her first language.
I can not edit the survey questions. Forgive me! You all are right: "for" is the only correct form in this case. A very interesting theory Maybe a verb is missing, at the beginning of the sentence? One can frivolously cut phrases in Polish. Something is wrong with English however... I was in a good mood and was joking around. No bad intentions \o/ Just <3
No, I mean "love in trains" is a perfectly valid phrase, just like "queue in traffic". It just assumes "love" is a noun. It's still a bit of an odd phrase in the context, but valid nevertheless.
From my perspective, it looks like this: I lack words and use google translate. The translation looks ridiculous very often. It's too literal. Sometimes it's even incorrect. It is also difficult to translate certain idioms. Often for fun, I look for these translations on websites dedicated to this. I correct some things intuitively. The Polish language treats prepositions very differently from the English language. The translation I modified returns to google translate. I do it because people get picky a lot. I'm already used to it. English is, however, the "official language" in such places - it is my problem, I do not know it sufficiently. The punch line: Polish > English > Polish... It sometimes looks terrible after such double-checking. That's why I am correcting it. The prepositions are very difficult for me because they are very different from my local habits. Most of you understand what the survey is about anyway BR o7
I have both haha, my girlfriend was my student traindriver, normally my students leave my wings after a year, she stuck around
There is a big difference between not spotting a typing error and not actually understanding the language. Get off my case !!!
Listen to that piano I pasted for you or eat Snickers. Everyone understands English here very well (omitting grammar knowledge), but maybe not everyone understands jokes?
