Damn you’re on PC that’s why it’s so clear if I try to replicate the stickers on console it would be so blurry not really worth it. For the handle you have to place a new layer and play with the projection settings
Two layers, top and bottom, with different projection settings. If you just use one, then the projection clips into the door at the bottom.
They're only clear in LD; in-game it's the same resolution you have and most of the niggly details I have so much fun with just become pixelated blobs anyway.
All right, I think I've messed with this one long enough. Besides, I'm pushing the layer max. Interestingly, light weathering is rather more difficult than heavy filth. What I was trying for is an older train that was washed last week, but has been driving in the rain ever since.
I hope you lot make all these wonderful liveries for the 313 as well Honestly though, you folk have been churning out some magnificent work for the 314
That looks amazing! How did you get the first group logo so realistic? I’ve done a fcc livery, I hope to some patches on it and then showcase it
The first logo I just layered on top of layers until it looked right then grouped them, I think it's got about 12 or 13 shapes making that one tiny logo.

A couple of new one's in the wagon shop this week. Both of these are more for Oakville Sub than Sandpatch as for some reason the game very, very rarely spawns custom liveried tank cars on Sandpatch whereas on Oakville they are spawned more commonly. The first one is pretty much completed the second one is still a work in progress.....
Think i'm done with them both now..... Dulled down the white on both after seeing them in the game. I really do wish Sandpatch had the same setup as Oakville when it came to using custom repaints. Oakville seems to be able to use anything available (Including the MoW cars from Peninsula Corridor) and it really makes the manifest trains a lot more interesting. Here's the black tank car.....
Yes custom repaints appear on Sandpatch but only with items of stock that came with Sandpatch. You don't see the items that came standard with Oakville Sub in Sandpatch. Oakville Sub on the other hand will put standard items from Sandpatch and Peninsula Corridor into trains as well as Oakville items. Then when you add in any custom repaints and it means manifest trains really do become a mixed random bag. On Sandpatch you will only get standard Sandpatch CSX liveries and custom repaints and that's it. Now you could say well you can't guarantee people having Oakville or Peninsula Corridor etc.... so that's why Sandpatch only spawns Sandpatch or custom items...... Thing is you can't guarantee people having Peninsula Corridor when they have Oakville Sub but Oakville Sub will still use the MoW hopper from Peninsula Corridor IF it is available so why can't they make Sandpatch use Oakville Sub and Peninsula Corridor items of stock IF they are available?
It's a matter of release order. SPG came first, so it had no provision for cars from DLC that didn't exist yet. Oakville came after SPG and PC, so could incorporate both of them. However, SPG is weird in that it almost never spawns alt-liveries on its own tank cars.
I'd not thought of that..... So you have to assume that the ability for a route to use any available stock from other installed routes was added with the release of Oakville. It'd be interesting to know whether it could also be added to older routes like Peninsula Corridor and Sandpatch though. It is great though to see tank cars spawning in Oakville as much as the other cars do.
I post this here in case someone missed the rollout, I think with some clever trickery it might be doable withing 300 layers at a reasonable standard (although the fine writing and the logo will be a challenge to include). Maybe I'll try it if/when I get Cane Creek
I can’t be arsed waiting for the 313 Southern that will be for next September so here’s my version without every details because of layers limitation:
Wow, that looks amazing and much better than mine. The 66 was my first attempt to use the "livery editor". Probably also the last one. I am used to work with superb paint kits in flight simulator X, but the PS4 editor is somehow....weird. Are you on PC which might allow better results ? How did you do the "weathering" at the lower part of the cab ? Since there is obviously no possibility to exchange/share repaints, i have to go back to the paintshop an try to improve. Thank you for the note.
yes I’m on PC but it’s still the same editor. The weathering is done with the square gradient shape stretched to the length of the loco and adjusted in height then positioned so that it is towards the bottom of the loco. The roof grime is done using the same shape but the opposite way up to the bodyside grime. It’s the only loco I’ve done as I concentrate more on freight stock usually and usually the US freight stuff at that.
Everything can be done on console you just have to get rid of your frustration like me while using the editor. When I say frustration it’s because it’s so unstable that when you use it for too long and forgot to save then it crashes you want to uninstall the game
This is a real pain....this happens all the time, and I have lost a lot of work because of the crashes.
This is so true. I am used to work with layered paintkits in Flight Simulator which is a big joy compared to the TSW editor. Crashes are just additional pain. I have to admit that layer sequence, grouping and mirroring is a nice feature but in total, too basic. Or is it just another DTG "feature"? I feel myself sooooo limited in the entire game. Talking about the invisible walls, camera movement, unused side yards...
To be honest the editor feels like it’s unfinished or some kind of beta and for the game they rush so hard to release DLCs in a short period of time that the final quality has decreased compared to the early ones
I ll give up. Shine trough whatever i try... brown sqare applied on top appears on front, and red front on side and top. kind of Bull 5h it.
