    Hi All

Does anyone know if there are plans to re release the north wales coastal extension to Holyhead as I need it for a few scenarios and route requirements. I assume that they would re release the north wales coastal as they did it for the south wales coastal as well. Finally is there any website that sells a code for the extension?

    Thank You

I believe DTG has stated that there are currently no plans to rebrand and rerelease the NWC route and the extension.
Also, if they did rerelease it, it wouldn't be guaranteed to work with scenarios and other route requirements as it would be classed as a new DLC.

Look at it this way. DTG still sells an add on train (the class 150/1) with scenarios for the original SWC route. When the entire route was rereleased they didn't update the scenarios for that train to be included in the rerelease.

Damn that kind of sucks I wanted that route is there any other way to buy it through a key website or can I not get it at all now.

Also they re-released south wales coastal as one route so it would make sense to do the same for north wales coastal and they did not have to re-release south wales coastal so I don't really understand your point.

You can get the NWC route without the extension through humble bundle by purchasing TS2018. Most other online sites that provide Steam keys no longer have TS2018 available. The extension to Holyhead has been completely removed from sale and I don't think it's available elsewhere.

Yes, it would make sense for DTG to rerelease NWC as there are a lot of players who want it (I wanted it until I bought TS2018 through Humble Bundle).
They didn't have to rerelease SWC as one complete unbranded route but they chose to and those who already owned the route got the unbranded version for free.

I don't know if this is in any way part of the reason behind DTG's unwillingness to re-release NWC+Holyhead as an unbranded single entity and I'm not suggesting this is the reason, however..

The BC (Bristol to Cardiff) and the SC (Swansea to Cardiff) were two separate routes, you could run either one without the other being a requirement, for some odd reason (and the reason of my post) most people assume SC is an extension of the BC route.

In fact DTG have only done two (to my knowledge) UK Extensions, one being the Holyhead NWC extension and the other being the Sheerness branch which is an extension of the London-Faversham route.

Maybe there is something here that is part of the reason (separate route builders or something) idk, I just like to clear up the whole extension thing whenever I can.. :D

I hope DTG reconsider this and bring the North Wales Coastal back, like South Wales Coastal.

You could count Riviera in the Fifties as a route extension being that the scenery was extended to Kingswear unlike the preceding modern version which only went as far as Paignton. Similarly the updated Portsmouth Direct Line and Woodhead Electric lines include extensions that weren't present in the originals (to Waterloo and Glossop). Interestingly most UK routes released between 2013-2014 had extra track laid with no scenery, presumably for scenery extension DLCs at a later date that never happened (only Sheerness branch happened in this way; GEML had the Harwich Town branch, ECML the Hertford Loop and the Riviera line had Kingswear).

On the original conversation, is there actually a genuine (preferably official) reason why NWC hasn't returned?

You're confusing Expansion (expanded upon the original product, updated but still one item) and Extension (additional sections but as separate DLC's)
No, but have you ever known DTG to be forthcoming with anything regarding TSxx?

South Wales Coastal originally only went between Bristol and Cardiff (hence in the editor it's listed as CS or CardiffSwansea).

Given DTG appear to have an Avanti license (not sure if it's like the DRS one and Avanti gave the license for WCML only), they may be holding back on NWC and waiting until they get a TfW license? As I've mentioned before, it may also be that they can't sell NWC even with an unbranded VT livery (not certain that's true but I think that was one thing that came of that time AP nearly got sued by them), and it may be felt it's better to have two fully branded liveries, rather than one branded and one unbranded.

They extend on the scenery without dependencies then (they still extend the scenery however just sold in a different way...).
I don't expect that, but I might have missed something that someone else may know about (and would be willing to share).

I miss the extensions, but anyway, I think the NWC could be brought back the same way it was, just without the logos, I don't know if just removing the logos is enough to not have problems with licensing.

You would have thought that if it were possible, it would have been done already. There's clearly something else holding it back (plus the lost revenue from not having the route + extension on sale, especially the extension which was only on sale for something like 6-8 months, so re-releasing as quick as possible would be 'economically preferable').

That would be exactly what was done with the ATW on SWC. However I believe they have other priorities but we were surprised with the return of SWC and BNSF so there is still hope.
