That is really amazing! I'm also trying to do a Santa Fe 286. Can you show me several tricks to do that?
Started my first US loco livery today......... That's the paint work pretty much done but I'm not happy with the red colour. I used the official colour code for the red and it was really bright so I used this darker shade but I need to adjust this red.
Yep you spotted my deliberate mistake guys..... I meant to type NA not US....... Anyway I played with the red/orange a little as well as making the black less black and I'm happier with them both now. Added the CN lettering, painted the handrails and added the yellow safety strip. Numbering and detailing around the cab area to do next. Here's some more pictures of the progress.....
Last couple of update pics for today..... I decided to number it as an ES44AC seeing as CN didn't have any AC4400-CWs. Obviously a good few differences between the two but they are similar-ish and it's a bit of variety for the sim. I'll probably have a go at doing the Dash 8 in CN livery once this one is done.
That’s a great collection to have a go at and seeing as I was born in 1973 I might have to have a go at one of those heritage liveries at least.
I want to do the 1952 one, I have already completed the 1986 one. Where did you get the official colour codes from?
I had been doing some Googling and came across this old site….. http://bondystrainz.bondysworld.com/?page_id=3445 The CN red is a bit too bright in the game so I just toned it down a little.
I suppose there's always the four ET44ACs that they have in heritage liveries 3008, 3023, 3069 and 3115 that could be done too.
I've started on the CN Dash8 today...... I noticed from photos that the font used for the web address is different on the Dash8s and is a very chunky design compared to the newer locos which have a slimmer font so I've had to create each letter using shapes rather than the normal text made bold by copying more letters on top of each other. I also prefer the CN logo that I've done on this loco compared to the one I did on the other loco yesterday so I'll be redoing the one on the other loco before i'm finished with that one.
Great creation, maybe just check the colour codes on both parts as the B unit seems more "orange-ish"
So just a heads up, the Covered Hopper that comes with Cane Creek has DTGX markings on them when in the Livery Editor. Also, the PS-4750 covered hopper is no where to be seen in the livery editor mode.
I did a Utah Belt SD40-2 for Cane Creek. I was going to do a AC4400CW too but unfortunately the livery editor for the UP AC4400CW was glitched for me.
I think I'm finished with these two now. I totally re-did all four CN logos on the AC4400CW / ES44AC loco using the same scaling and technique as I used on the Dash 8. As I said previously the Dash 8 locos seem to have had a different font used for the web address so I made all the lettering from various shapes instead of using text. Handrails were quite complex on the Dash 8 especially with the inner handrails on each corner taking three separate layers/shapes to cover the whole handrail. And CN certainly seem to like their safety signs and notices don't they!!!! Anyway here are the finished items.... Firstly the AC4400CW / ES44AC.
Thanks to a crash I lost all my liveries it was a while ago so I decided to do this one again and here’s the Talent 2 used as a base for the Z50000 ( NAT ) which has a lot of similarities as both were made from Bombardier:
I'm happy my game hasn't had much issues with liveries if I were to lose my 150 liveries I would be sad
That’s what happened last time I lost around 150 to 200 I can’t remember correctly but since that crash I won’t copy a livery ever again that was the reason and I secure my work by saving constantly after each creation on the cloud and my USB key
Out of interest has anyone tried replicating the DRS compass logo on the class 66 yet? not my image: credit to: 37190 "Dalzell" on Flickr.
I think yeah on previous pages but honestly I don’t know if you can replicate it exactly with its shapes like irl as you will go beyond the 300 layers
I’ll attempt it too! I’ve just gotta do that compass and tidy up the train, should be done very soon…
