After a bit of a mammoth session - mastery complete... I promised to show one of my stream community the dinosaurs on Sunday morning so now I can .
Wow! You didn't mess about getting stuck into that new route. That's a lot of game play! Thanks for sharing Bronto, Rex and Tricer EDIT: Looking forward to your Sunday stream. x
Today after work was the only chance I have before Sunday - too much on with family things tomorrow. I will make sure we stop at the Dinosaurs for a close look on Sunday. This is the stream link if you want to put a reminder on - its 11/Jul 8.30am AEST. Paul
You have to be logged into DTG Live in the game and then complete the 'Mastery Challenges' 1 & 2 When you've done that, you will get a 'Configure Overlay' option when you select a route DLC. Enable the 'Overlay', then you can go look on the route for where the scenery is. I think the first mastery challenge gives you items for the Livery Designer, the second mastery gives you a 'special' scene, these range from Market Places, Fun fair, Festivals, Meeting sites, Alien spacecraft and now Dinosaurs
So much for the overly ballyhooed "immersion". Another reason for me to completely ignore so-called "mastery" and thanks for unmasking mastery's mystery.
It is not immersion breaking because the Moab Giants Dinosaur Park exists in real life. Here is the google maps link.
thanks for the explanation - I am familiar with mastery though, I was just confused because I have unlocked part 1 and could not find anything in the livery editor and no option to activate scenery like with the other routes. At least now I know that I definitely need to unlock the second stage before I will be able to see the dinosaurs! Maybe for Livery designer I need to relog? Didn't check again after the last time.
I'm new around here. Silly me forgot to look at 'Messages' - near the very bottom of your Avatar. Twice as many likes than messages must 'rub you up the right way'? Toodles...
Nice little video Paul. Seemed very smooth with the chat recording and browser running at the same time. What sort of rig do you have?
It runs pretty hard doing game play, the chat session and streaming so I'd love some more grunt, but I've got i5 10700K Asrock 9th gen Gaming 4 mobotherboard 32gb of DDR4 2666 RTX 3070 video card (which I think was a downgraded TI because I overclock it quite nicely) goXLR mini for audio mixing Streamdeck for control By the end of stream its fans are pretty loud so it gets seriously hot. Paul
I'm saving up for the rest of these parts to go with my Gigabyte RTX 3060 OC: New Build (AMD) - Black (No GPU) - Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core, iCUE 4000X RGB ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
Makes me wonder about the Glasgow ufo https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/glasgow-named-top-spot-scotland-24404504
Make sure you buy the Ryzen from someplace that does no questions returns - when you get a good one they're great, but when they're not ... urk. I'm keeping an eye on CPU prices now that the next intel gen has been announced to try and hit the sweet spot between prices dropping down and when they go up again because of low stock so I can get an i7 or i9.
Can you at least see the dinosaur from the train, as most of the Mastery overlay can not be seen from the train, Lubeck, and Northern England, are the few you can see from the train
On the main menu of the route there is an option on the bottom right "Configure Overlays" open that and you can select which ones you want to see from those you have finished Mastery for. You can see a discussion of it on this video Paul
OMG. I hadn't enabled any of this. I have earned all of these overlays form the mastery challenges but didn't know you had to turn them on to view them. Thanks for pointing this out.
There are a lot of things to learn in TSW2, since some aren't covered in any manuals. As a tip to anyone as a PC user, check the key control bindings in the Settings menu. You will find a lot of tweakable things, especially for HUD while you are playing. CTRL and numbers key combos / 'F' keys are your friends. I mentioned it in another thread but no response: Try control and mouse keys when on the map screen.
You're welcome. It took me a little while to find them too until I visited "overlays" to see what it was . And I agree conniethunder so much stuff not in manuals. I've been gradually building up my own. As I try each new loco I write up the startup, shutdown, recovery from emergency and change end procedures from the tutorials - then do a bit of research (when I get time!) to find out what the real sequence would be in real life. One day it will be worth sharing but there are too few in there now. I also notice after releases sometimes the sequence changes and if you don't do it in the right order in things like the ICE3 and ICE3M they just sit there yelling at you in German. Reminds me of an old teacher I had 40+ years ago. He was German teaching English in high school and his idea of teaching was to bark at us and when he got really mad he would yell at us in German which was always our main objective every day.
