Today, I am suggesting the Hamburg S-Bahn for TSW 2.

Most of the information can be found in this video.

The Hamburg S-Bahn is a Commuter Railway/S-Bahn System, serving the city of Hamburg in Germany. I am specifically suggesting the S1 and S11 Lines of the system for the game.

The S1 Line runs between Wedel and Poppensbuttel, with a branch to the Hamburg Airport.

The S11 Line is the Rush Hour counterpart to the S1 Line. It runs between Blankenese and Poppensbuttel.

I’d like for the other 4 S-Bahn lines (S2, S3, S21, S31) to appear as well on this route, however, as AI services/shorter services. This would give the route much more life and make it feel more alive.

The System serves 68 Stations, across 147 Kilometers of track.

    Rolling Stock

The route would run the BR 472, 474, and 490.

What are your thoughts on this suggestion?

I would gobble this up as a DLC. Great suggestion!

Excellent idea and of these lines S3 to Stade is the German equivalent to Metro-North New Haven line due to it being an Overhead wires 15kv 16.7hz to 1.2kv DC Third Rail line. If DTG wants to future proof the Hamburg S-Bahn DLC then update it to include the S4 to Bad Oldestoe. That requires making the Hamburg-Lübeck route being 4 tracks to Bad Oldestoe S4 terminal station. For Train sim 21 this is the S1 line

I support this suggestion. I already made a detailed description on this route back in April. This could possibly add layers to Hauptstrecke Hamburg – Lübeck to give the area around Hamburg a much needed life in regards to a.i. traffic.

This was part of my thread regarding layers.
If layers were to actually happen (minus the other routes/locos that don’t exist yet)
From 2:10 to 5:14 in the video

I did look at it and here's the thing DTG will simply copy and paste Third rail Top Contact 750v DC onto Hamburg S-Bahn and in this section the Hamburg U-Bahn which is the subway system for Hamburg. In reality they are different voltages and contact shoe position 1.2kv DC Third Rail Side Contact S-Bahn Hamburg while the subway system Hamburg U-Bahn uses 750v DC Third rail bottom contact like it's American equivalent the 1970s upgraded Metro-North Hudson Harlem lines and New Haven line Pelham to Woodlawn Junction where it's connected to Harlem Line towards Grand Central terminal using the same 750v DC Third rail bottom contact

I would love it to be merged with HHL as one massive route but that may be a little much if your not on a good PC or next gen consoles

I doubt the last gen Consoles would struggle much. TSW only loads in relevant areas so it shouldn't be that stressful to the hardware.

It should have both routes combined regardless

Another thing is that I believe all lines should be in the route

Isn’t it over 100 miles, it’s a lot but like mentioned, the game would only load in the part of the route your in

Yeah but think about why we don't have longer routes.
The longer the dev time the more it costs DTG to make. At a certain point it becomes un-economic. So that's why I'm saying that.
