The latest update from AP, Posted only as info - please post discussions/comments in a separate post. Thanks!
A few more updates.. please remember and respect Peters wishes regarding discussions.. I have started a discussion thread HERE More info on the Class 37 update from the horses mouth..
May as well sub myself to this thread. Only one change, included the 29th from above before checking in here, so minor duplication is present. But confirms no other updates between these.
AP Updates and Download Installations One important point: when you install ANY AP DLC/Updates, etc always remember to delete the contents of this folder after installation: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Downloaded Installations. DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER ITSELF just the contents! AP uses an obsolete .msi method to install their products and the installation leaves behind (in the above folder) files that are the same size as the original download. These files are not needed and should be deleted Otherwise, over time, they will occupy huge gigabytes of disk space.
Good tip. A quick addition to that: if you extract the contents of the archive, you will want to delete those files as well (usually in a folder in the same location as the archive itself). Then back up your downloaded files to another drive in case something goes wrong. That way, the only thing on your drive is what's installed and nothing else. The Class 37 and Mk1 pack are huge files, so this is several gigabytes between them alone with installer, extraction, and .msi files all over the place. I've attached an image of a "data" file. If you see Armstrong Powerhouse in the details, this is something left behind by Armstrong's installations. I had about 7 GB in there. Note that extra stock packs and others poke files into that folder as well.
Just posting a quick update to say there is no update. In case anyone was wondering why there is a lack of updates, that's the update on why there are no updates. Stay tuned for further updates. (Seriously, nothing in the last two weeks.)
I don't understand the purpose of this thread. The update log is a permanent feature of AP's site, so the information here is just a repeat of what's always available there and AP's customers will know where to find the site.
This thread is updated with all changes to products. The update log only shows the most recent changes, but if you look further up the thread, you'll see changes no longer documented on the log. So this is a permanent log of all updates to the items.
Danny... the way I see it is that its an easier way to see when AP have updated their products... Peter H is kindly doing this (as a service) for those (like me) who don't regularly check the AP website as I tend to spend more time on this forum than the AP website... Keep up the good work Peter H... Eric
Sept 1st a ginormous 28 updates today on a whole load of DLC under the title of More varied adhesion. A lot of reinstallation!
I am sure there will be peeps not liking this one. Nothing else new in the log, so this will suffice.
Well this is a massive update. Looks like they are trying to make driving a train more challenging than it already is. Lots of packs to update if you want it.
Cyclone I'll take your 24th update and raise you the 25th update, Wheelslip/Wheelslide tweaked (before anyone whinges AP did recommend NOT downloading and installing the whole lot in one go on the 24th)
Looks like the 158 has a new livery added. Have to redownload the pack to get it. Side note: if you don't want the updated physics changes, you might consider trying to do a dummy install and reapply the physics files from the existing installed version. I offer no guarantee on this, but why not upgrade the physics at this point anyway? Just back up the scenarios if you are missing stock from updated versions.
New AP product. Class 800-803 EP https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/class_800-803_enhancement_pack From Youtube: Note the scenarios use Chat Moss, which is NOT available on Steam, so head here for more info on that. (Note you will need to acquire the ATS OHLE pack to see it fully.) Remember to use the discussion thread for any discussion about this pack, this is just the info. (Edited to remove “coming soon” notes.)
Just bringing things up to date, I noticed AP removed the update note dated the 23rd that Cyclone posted above and replaced it with the one dated the 24th. Also a load of AP sound packs have been removed, no reason given thus far though. Please remember to comment/discuss > HERE and not in this thread though, thanks.
Been forgetting to check the log, thanks for posting that. I will add a note here on the removed sound packs. If you were looking for the Class 20, 33, 47, 55, and 57 sound packs, all are no longer available. Neither is the 220, which didn't work with the Voyager Advanced and otherwise only works with the retired 220 from Steam. Currently available sound packs include the Class 52, Class 92, Class 101/117/121, Class 303, Class 390, and Class 442, plus several wagon sound packs. That's it in the category and more may go in the future.
Latest update log update: there is still an update log. For anyone who doesn't know, the 700/707/[717] pack came out some 9-10 days ago.
Let's catch up. 700 got another update. Jointed track fixes in scenarios for three packs. 156 got new skins for the Wherry upgrade pack. And other repairs. BTW, since I mentioned it, there is a new Wherry upgrade pack. It adds the five missing scenarios to the Steam version if that's the one you own. So if you bought the Steam version to save money, you now have a mini scenario pack with some Class 156 skins included. And even a Canadian found it cheaper than the L-B Reigate "expansion" on Steam. Be prepared to have to buy the AP Class 37 to drive the scenarios, however, if you don't own that. Discussion thread.
Class 37s also got updated to use the ICA-D pack. I don't see notes on the JSAs being added to scenarios - even on SWC as of yet.
