We know that, when items in the roadmap are in upcoming, they will arrive before the next roadmap 2 weeks later. Will the summer update (new UI, bakerloo and MSB updates and the cab sway selector, etc etc) come next thursday to Steam? Or only on Epic games store? Thank you
Nope, upcoming means the major work has been done, and now is in final testing Next arrival is before the next roadmap usually Confusing to begin with but makes sense
Exactly. Since there was nothing under 'Next Arrival' yesterday, we can assume nothing will be released between now and August 9.
Personally I think they should rename Upcoming to "in testing" and next arrival to something like "near release". I think that'd be a bit less confusing, even if it does skim over some of the details and technicalities (Upcoming also means a thing is awaiting testing). Just me?
They were obviously trying to be cute and use rail related wording. "In Planning", "Main Dev Cycle", "Alpha testing", "Second Dev cycle", "Beta / QC testing", "Finishing Dev cycle", "Ready for release" would work better so we knew where we were.(with the thing flop flopping between the various test and dev cycles) but it's highly unlikely we'd ever get that much info.
Use whatever nomenclature you wish, but I doubt that the Roadmap will ever be more specific than it is now. Understandable really. Over commitment is a no win strategy. Case in point: On the stream yesterday, we were reassured that Rush Hour would be released in its entirety " this Summer ". But then Natalie added " I'll leave it to you (the players) to decide when Summer ends", or words to that effect. Very astute.
