…will soon come to life in the next expansion for Train Sim World, as the northern section of one of the oldest lines in Germany, the Ruhr-Sieg Railway from Hagen to Finnentrop, is coming soon, initially to Windows PC.

Certainly looking forward to driving this route. Will we be able to use the DB BR 143 and Doppelstockwagen on the Rapid Transit route as well since they used to operate on that route?

Wow that looks really nice. When can we expect some screenshots of the Doppelstockwagen? I'm looking forward to play this sometime on consoles ;)

This! It would enhance the existing dlcs.

No you cannot as DTG have not given us the option to run the trains we own on the routes we own.

I meant whether we would be able to use the DB BR 143 in service mode for RT, not have every train unlocked for every route. They did it with the GP40-2 when NEC: New York was released.

We already have this route in Train Simulator 2018. - Ok, it's bit long in the tooth as it came out 6 years ago - the is an update on the German Rail Forums to bring it up to TS2018 standards. The one big difference is the old route runs 103km from Hagen to Siegen and this new route only runs 59.6km from Hagen to Finnentrop

And we will still have to just play the Scenarios that come with it and using the Default trains. :(

Can anyone tell me which time range of this dlc will be represented? The passenger service with the doppelstockwagen doesn't exist anymore.

Can we drive the BR185 on the Leipzig route then?

Man I miss the teasers that lasted longer than a day. Finally some more freight though.

As for Rapid Transit...the 143 isn't allowed into the City Tunnel. It's too old, and doesn't have the right fire protection to stop at an underground passenger station. They would use Leipzig Hbf, but that is not modeled in RT.

I am so happy to see this route in tsw, little sad to see Siegen not in it though. Very nice choice of roling stock.
if you do this as good as wsr it will be great!

Wow, another dlc... Who would have thought. Money is a beautiful thing, isnt it? Might have to be careful with the recent amount of dlc's, the majority of your customers might run out of permissions from their parents to buy them all;-)

I just looked at the full announcement, which seems to state that this route, like TSW, will include only passenger traffic. Am I mistaken? If not, what do you have against freight?

Now I'm not sure, if to buy this, or wait till TSW2020 edition where will be with one USA and one UK route.

Probably it depends on the price...

The article says that it is a primarily freight route. Freight will be included in this route.

I'm happy to pass my copy of the European Rail Atlas to DTG. There's loads of route in there, just in case you're looking for inspiration.

Anyway, this a much shorter version of the Ruhr-Sieg Railway that's available in TS, for anyone who prefers value for money and immersion over pretty backdrops.

Personally I'm looking forward to the Waterloo & City Line coming to TSW but going on recently releases, I'm not so sure it will go all the way to Waterloo.

So, does anyone have any idea how the physics model for any of those locomotives could help in improving the physics of american freight locos - like they mentioned in the last article about diesel-electric improvements?

    it's written there:
Here’s a grab from part of the SimuGraph setup from a currently unannounced locomotive from a product in development. It demonstrates how switchgear and resistors are now added to the new traction motor circuitry and are used for electric / dynamic braking purposes. This will feed in nicely to the future work on getting the CSX locomotives upgraded with the new physics setup.

I believe there was mention that the July 24 update would form the baseline for all future updates & DLC so I assume it would be after or at least at the same time as that update. That said, there does seem to be a fairly aggressive push to publicise this release so it's always possible that plans have changed.

    Perhaps TrainSim-Luke could clarify matters?

    No.
The way TSW works is you have Scenarios that come with the route and that is all you do.
Just because you own other German stock does not mean you can use them on other routes

Yeah I know that, it was more the question if DTG will add some freight services to the RT route. Sad there is no free roam on TSW

More WIP things and stuff snagged right from the livestream.

    Things of note:
    • Purdy Dosotos
    • Ultra modern cab car (the experts say it's the 4th generation one)
    • No leaves on trees in the winter months (finally)
    • Different railroad tie shape, also different colors (see how the Dosotos are on nice and clean ties, while the second shot has the same ties but real dirty)
    • Other things are still pretty WIP (brake hoses are American, for example)

They had better update the trees on the other routes too. I'm sick and tired of seeing white leaves on the trees in the winter.

In my opinion, TSW is the most real multinational simulator that satisfies me, being aware that it should improve to satisfy many others users who feel somewhat disappointed. TSW will be improving little by little, I'm sure. I consider it a success on the part of DTG to choose this route, which I hope will not disappoint ;).

I hope they make the brake indicators on the outside functional so when released they are green and red when applied. (blue arrow)
Also please (after you added the right air hoses) dont let them just hang there, they have to be secured in the thing below them. (red arrow)

This isn't looking positive for a Release on July 24th along with the consoles update because there hasn't been an update on this in around a Month?! Having said this there may be an announcement about it in the stream later or a secret release... who knows :)

Like all DLC, it arrives when it arrives. All the griping, yearning, and threatening in the world will not hasten its arrival.

(That's not to say that I would protest if it arrived tomorrow, of course.)

Axle is there, red arrow is pointing at it. Axle is aligned with bearings, but wheels aren't aligned with it yet. Yes, this is how work is done, you make somehow working prototype and refine it over time. I guess PR team just asked dev team for more screenshots to release while rolling stock isn't completely refined yet. What's the problem?

IMO this approach is better than maintaining complete radio silence until product is ready in fear that someone finds some rough edges.

    Another example

Can't see your problem. He asked about something that obviously isn't how it should be. Now of course it's work in progress but better to raise attention beforehand and probably get a "yes, we know about it" from DTG than leave it at that, thinking "oh it's WIP they'll fix it in the end" just to see that it actually hasn't been fixed. Best example: the screenshots we got from WSR at the beginning and some guy (I can't remember his name) pointed out the wipers of the class 47 which were set falsely, something DTG probably didn't know themselves.

Well, not quite true. One of the NEC freight scenarios allows the engineer to roam and switch the Oak Point Yard (forgive me if I've got the location wrong, but it is certainly one of the major yard areas). Haven't you posted about that session in the past, Daniel?

Third time around, axle is there. I pointed an arrow on it if you can't find it. Here some more arrows and an outline.
    upload_2018-7-24_22-34-3.png

It is aligned with ball bearings now, but wheels are out of place as this piece of rolling stock isn't yet ready for release and will be tweaked further to align everything properly. Why do you think that axle and wheels are modeled as a single object? That's not necessarily so.
